Hey Bruce Lee Headz - Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story Just peeped it again on cable and wanted to know how accurate it is. Like:
- Did the character Jerome really exist? - Did he really fight for the "right" to teach his style of Kung Fu to Americans? - And as a result of that fight, is that really how he got hurt and was basically immobile for a while? - Did he really beat the dude that immobilized him in a re-match, and was it in under 60 seconds? I've always respected that dude, especially when he was at UCLA and befriended Kareem and he taught Kareem his Jeet Kune Do. Cool shit, especially to see Kareem in Game of Death leave that big ass footprint on Bruce . So basically, how accurate was the flick to either the book it's based on or his real life? Thanks in advance. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Oh, that's right - You're the biggest Bruce Head I know! Don't know why I forgot that? So the movie was pretty much on point to the book/real story? Cool shit then. And Brandon Lee knocked that role right outta the park. Dude was charasmatic as hell. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

I wish I had copies of some of his home movie stuff. Just unbelievavble stuff. Some of those clips looks like CGI.

Jason Lee did a great job playing him.

Director Rob Cohen took creative license with some parts of the movie. Bruce Lee actually hurt his back lifting weights; as a result, Linda was forced to take a job and become the breadwinner. Bruce was bedridden for most of that time, though he managed to compile his thoughts about the martial arts, which become the posthumously released, The Tao of Jeet Kune Do. Bruce did accept the challenge of Wong Jack Man for the right to teach non-Chinese. The fight happened at Bruce's school and from all accounts, it wasn't aesthetically pleasing as the fight in the movie. As recounted by Linda Lee, though Bruce was victorious, he felt "his performance was neither crisp nor efficient. This caused Bruce to question his own personal expression of martial arts..." (Excerpt from the Bruce Lee Story by Linda Lee) That fight resulted in Bruce Lee changing his entire outlook on martial arts and the way he approached fighting as a whole. Also, he didn't have a rematch with his adversary as is portrayed in the movie. Bruce actually got noticed at the 1964 Ed Parker International Karate Championships, where, at the invite of Mr. Parker, gave a demonstration of his art. In the audience was Hollywood hair stylist Jay Sebring (later one of Charles Manson's murder victims) who mentioned Bruce to TV producer William Dozier who wanted to follow up the Batman TV series with another comic book series called the Green Hornet. Nevertheless, I thought it was an enjoyable flick and Jason Scott Lee did a good job. If you haven't noticed, I'm a big Bruce Lee fan My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

Speaking of Hollywood, Bruce hurt his back in 1970,(lifting weights) in the movie they had his back hurt in in mid 1960's. Gotta love creative license.

I wish they would have covered more of the real life drama on the set of "Blood & Steel".(Enter the Dragon) That would have made a good movie by itself.
Some of the movie extras were a part of the Triads and they were constantly dissing Bruce. Bruce whipped a whole lot of ass during the filming of that movie. I would love 2 have seen some of those real fights.
