it was a first for me both times, i've never worked so exclusively with cardboard and wood carving... they were both so much fun but so different...

i'd do it again. nod

what i'm anxious for is for school to start again so i can get back into my painting.

The first one is cardboard? That's really impressive. I'm assuming they each took hours and hours to complete.

So many talented people here yay!

they both took about a month to complete nod

There was also a painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat entitled Agony of the Feet :

i made a copy of that painting in my second year of university:

Thank you. I definetly steal from cezanne and bay area figurative painters.

That's what I'm told at least. :shurg:

I would love to paint like Lucian Freud or Cecila Beux.

I wish I could paint like that:

And yes all my painting are for sale!
I wanna get this huge tattoo ya know. biggrin

oh and a note - my camera sucks so the pictures dont give
the actual color of any of my paintings very well.

They are much more radiant and warm in reality.

Especially the apple.

this is a poem i wrote some years back for an anti-gang youth program here in california, and was published many times. thought i'd share this until i find something newer to put up.

READ MY HEADSTONE

READ MY HEADSTONE
THE WORLD IS COLD & VIOLENT
PRISON BARS AROUND MY THOUGHTS

I'M HEADING 4 A DAWNING
16 & IN A GANG
HOW DID I FIND MYSELF THIS WAY ?
BULLET HOLES IN MY COFFINS DOORWAY

I'M SHOOTING PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW
AND WHY ?
I'M A THUG
AND LIFE
I GET LIFE
PRISONS HERE
I'TS ARRIVED

AND
NEXT TIME
I'LL KILL HIM
4 A CHRONIC HIGH

LIKE I SAID
THE WORLD IS FULL OF THE DEAD WALKING
WAITING 4 A BULLZ EYE

OUT OF JAIL
AND IN MY RIDE
WITH AN AUTOMATIC IN MY LEFT HAND
DRIVE BY
AND WELL...THAT'S WHAT U GET AROUND THIS WAY

I'M LYING IN A COMA QUIET SLEEP
WITH GUNS AIMED AT MY HEAD & FIRED
DEAD OR DYING
BLEEDING IN MY BED

THE WORLD IS COLD & VIOLENT
I'M HEADING 4 A DAWNING
16 & DEAD
READ MY HEADSTONE

MY BROTHERS ON THE RISE
FOLLOWING MY BLOOD DROPS DOWN THE STREET
HE'LL HAVE A DEATH TAG
ON HIS FOOT NEXT WEEK

MAMA BURIED 2 SONS
AND WHAT COULD SHE DO ?
HER HUSBAND DIED LAST YEAR
DEATH ROW

DEAD END DAYS NEVER END
DON'T TURN YOUR HEAD
BUT
READ MY HEADSTONE

AND TELL ME WHO'S HELPING OUT HERE ?
PEOPLE LISTEN 2 MY LAST SIGH
GANGS ON THE RISE OUT HERE
AND
READ MY HEADSTONE....

You got a great talent! thumbs up!

It reminds me the way impressionist painters use the natural light to create the right shades.
