Second generation American Swed here - my paternal grandfather came over in his early teens with his parents. I can not recall the Yr though I have it written down somplace.

He ( my grandfather ) refused to teach his 9 children his native tongue because being a proud new American he wanted them to learn English

That's a pity. I think it's a wonderful thing if a child grows up learning more than one language.

I can see and respect his ( grandfather's ) desire to do what he thought was best for his children as a new American. I DO wish that my Dad knew the language and would have been able to hand that to us nod

wave expat swede here, not really a proper one, since I only ever lived in sweden for the first 2 years of my life, but since I am still a swedish citizen and my family still only do things like christmas the swedish way, I'm more at home with those things than australian traditions.
Folks in the street in stockholm ask me for directions when I am there and I have no idea boxed

Hold up - you asked if there were any other Swedish ORGERS, and I am...just not a Prince fan anymore. wink Came for the man, stayed for the friends. Now I'm barely here at all, the place gets boring after a while just like most places be they cyber or real. The friends I still got though.
Check this out, http://www.myspace.com/th...experience if you happen to be in Stockholm tomorrow. mr.green

Hey Charlotte, you never answered... where is he? sad Cuz I KNOW you know.

When I was little, (about 30 years ago!) I used to love going to Sears because they had a candy counter and I'd get some swedish fish.
