Hey Sammi!  so I hear your starting out with figure-modeling. Have a few varied 1 minute poses to begin with- try try create poses with interesting angles.  Be careful with your body because you don't want to create too much tension if your doing longer poses- even a 5minute pose can be horrifying if you make it too complex. 
Stretch during breaks- don't be afraid to move and return to a pose if you need to. For longer poses- def do an interesting seated or laying down pose. Be daring too- they like that...open your legs if you have to  . But it all depends on the group vibe.  Your gonna love it- esepecially when you see how people see you.

One of my friends did this in college.  I told him I was gonna enroll for that one art class.  He was quite pleased with himself after modeling.
