Just find somewhere else to do it. If you think it'll help then there's no reason you can't actively seek somewhere to do it, even if it's not that close. I'm sure there's another art class you can pose for...with ppl you don't know of course that's not possible. the guy i'm dealing with deals with all the professors, so they tell them when they need models, and then he tells us...

where is the fun in drawing skinny people 
we had a guy who was emaciated, any drawings we made of him always looked awful. Our favourite ones were always the ones with abundant curves. | |

i have drawn many models, nude and clothed
i work by feeling that person, not by actually looking at them it can be a cold and thankless job but the rewards are that you get to be immortalised on canvas and see something about yourself something deeper i have made some of my subjects cry, with the truth that has come out through my work facing your innerself can be the hardest thing for us a individuals to do.. dont do it for the money, i can see how it could help you get a handle on loving yourself and your body. but if that is indeed your intention, then begin by understanding your own self, look in the mirror and feel your own soul.. are you ready for submission
