See that just totally proves that Matthew Barney is a sell-out, he's available for home video collection purchase. disbelief William Kentridge would never release his films like that! hmph! lol

I wouldn't doubt it. You can probably rent them on Netflix or Blockbuster. (He's such a sell-out!) mad (Michael Kimmelman, the head art critic for the NY Times says Barney is the most important artist of our generation, I say he is the most overrated!)

no...not legally, anyway. "the order" is just a portion of "cremaster 3", which is something like 3 1/2 hours long. it's pretty, though...and it comes with a trailer for all the films, which was the biggest selling point for me.

I think action figures might really be better. Like buying a limited edition sculpture or something. It could be like Andy Warhol/Duchamp transposed: instead of taking a Brillo box or urinal and elevating it to "Art", Barney would be taking "Art" and making it mainstream.

Although, I didn't really like when Murakami tried to pull that stunt, either. And they still wouldn't be that mainstream if they were limited edition... hmmm
