Fred's rendition of "The Christmas Song" is one of my favorites. touched

And remember the secret drawer? smile It was Donna...or maybe it was Lamont who knew he has found "the one" when the woman walks over and without using the secret knock simply lays her hand on top of the credenza and the drawer pops open (like an erection). lol

Yep...When I was real little and my dad was doing his thing out here with his music, my mom taught modeling. Anyway, she was offered a job in the wardrobe department at NBC in Burbank and one of the shows she would have being doing wardrobe for was Sanford and Son. But the hours didn't coincide with the rest of her schedule teaching modeling at Patrica Stevens ( a modeling school) so she didn't take it. But they took her on a tour of all of the shows on the lot and she saw the set of Sanford and Son.

If you want to see an early version of Fred Sanford, check out "Cotton Comes to Harlem"(starring Godfrey Cambridge, Raymond St. Jacques, Calvin Lockhart and the stunning Judy Pace). Redd steals the film as junk dealer Booker Washington Simms, otherwise known as "Old Uncle Bud". smile

No one seems to agree about Fred's Stand-Up work. Maybe I'm alone on this one. Which once again, sort of proves my point about the guy being underrated.

Cotton Comes is one of the best films ever made. Highly underrated. Great message, funny as hell AND sad all in the same movie. PLEASE don't get me started on JUDY Page!...Fine as hell. Remember the episode she was on where she was using Grady to get to Lamont? She ALWAYS looked good!

Judy did a lot of TV back then(shows like 'Good Times', 'What's Happening', etc.), and she was in the movie "Frogs".

Mom always tell me that I used to rock to the theme song as a baby. The show still cracks me up, especially the bantering between Fred and Aunt Esther. Unfortunately I'm more aware of the awkward acting, but I still enjoy it.

"Sanford and Son" was based on "Steptoe and Son", so there should definitely be some similarities.
