question for the mechanics here~ need help with car a few months ago I had my radiator replaced with and aluminum one. They also changed the hoes. (2001 toyota camry)
Everything was fine until I noticed that my car started to get overheated when Im at a complete stop on the freeway or in a drive-through. I took it back to the radiator place and they said the fans work fine, it isnt the thermostat, and OF COURSE it didnt get hot when I was there. DONT YOU HATE THAT!!! The mechanic said it could be the head gasket, but he doubts it because there isnt water in my oil. I told him I had my oil changed a few days ago, and he said that didnt matter. If it was the head gasket, water would be in the oil. He thinks its the water pump..... any suggestions???? Say it's just a dream...

When the car is running any funny noises? It's odd that it doesn't get hot while at the shop, I also feel this is something they should have checked while replacing the radiator to begin with... And more than likely, your water pump is the problem.
Have you seen any odd pools of liquid around the car? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Absolutely! Sounds fishy to me now... You should contact your local Bureau of Automotive Repairs if you feel ripped off... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

Do not keep going to this shop. They should be able to tell if the water pump is your problem, not tell you "probably". There is also a definite test for a blown head gasket, and they do not always pump int the oil or vice versa.
Why was the radiator replaced? was the system properly bled after? Most water pumps have a bleed hole as a tell that the seals/bearing are going, this is there on purpose to alert the mechanic, and it will drip coolant at this point. But any leak you are having a shop should be able to identify :OjitheFanKeybumpersticker:
