Drinking age from 21 to 18?

I don't know if this has been discussed yet, if it has then I'm sorry for posting. How many people think that the drinking age should lowered from 21 to 18?

The drinking age here is 18.

I know of people who cross over the border from Detroit to Windsor, Ontario so they can drink.

Why go through that, when you can just get someone of legal age to get alcohol for you. Not that I condone that. tease

It's 19 in Ontario, not 18.

Quebec is 18 though.

no problem in th UK though there were a few people suggesting raising the age to 21 though i cant see how that would work considering no one pays attention of the drinking age anyway, though i have never seen the attraction of sitting in the park at 13 drinking cheap cider lol

No, they don't. ID'ing in Ontario is serious shit.

It's 18 in Manitoba as well and when I lived there I hated it. Drunk 18 year olds are even more annoying that drunk 19 year olds - and they are bad enough.

21 is too old for a person's first legal drink.

I started drinking at 18 and it was legal. Then the next year, they raised the legal drinking age in Texas to 19. Luckily, I turned 19 a couple months before the age rise.

Then two years later, they raised it to 21. Again, fortunately I turned 21 right before the limit was raised.

Things just always seem to work out for me.

I've always thought it was messed up that in this country you're considered old enough and of sound enough mind to kill for and sacrifice your life for your country, but you can't drink a beer. You can vote, but not have a smart cocktail after election day.

There is no way that people should be allowed to join the millitary, but not allowed to drink at 18

I agree 100%. I could be wrong, but I believe that the government makes more money off of wars than they do kids drinking (Alcohol Taxes). I don't know.

Perhaps if they tied it to an IQ test. The vast majority of 18 year olds around me are complete dipshits and don't need alcohol making them any stupider.

I like it at 21 cause then to party at 18 you need a certain level of cunning and intelligence to score booze without getting busted. When we were kids it was more about the game of getting it than actually drinking it.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I think 18 or 19 is a suitable age for legal drinking. I think its worked fine here in Canada at least.

I totally DO NOT think it should be lowered. You're really not missing that much that you can't afford to wait a few more years. Plus, at 18, the hormones are just getting settled down in our bodies, and then we go and throw booze in the mix. I know few actually wait til 21, like I did, but still...

Snap

Why not? Let people mess up their own damn lives FIRST before they start a family and ruin them too. Seriously, it's a total shame the way alcohol is marketed to the American public. Can't have good time without a beer now, can we?
