Microsoft picks Jerry Seinfeld to help improve image after Vista problems

at 16:29 on August 21, 2008, EDT.
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SEATTLE - Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will appear in Microsoft Corp.'s next Windows advertising campaign.

A person familiar with the plans confirmed a Wall Street Journal report Thursday that named Seinfeld as the company's new pitchman. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition on anonymity because the plans have not been formally announced.

Seinfeld is being brought on board to help brighten Microsoft's image as the company tries to move past its bumpy launch of Windows Vista.

I finally got a chance to tinker with Vista.

It's pretty good. But why the hell Microsoft kept the registry and dubbed this thing as a major improvement is beyond me.

I heard they thought Windows was stale. So they picked a guy that hasn't been on TV since the last millenium?

Weird.

People loooove Jerry. A lot. I heard he's getting paid $10 million for the ads.

I loved him a lot, too - in 1996.

i don't care who they get. Vista will still suck. I had our IT person take out some of the bells and whistles so my system would run faster.

Yeah, I will probably upgrade in a few months.

I work on both. I gotta say I prefer PCs. For one thing, I really hate Mac keyboards. People always think I'm crazy when I tell them this, but the standard Mac keyboard is terrible. I'm constantly making typos whenever I work on one.

Vista 64 is great.

Once you get a $3000.00 paperweight cause Apple is too stupid to use a modular motherboard, you'll never want another Apple.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I don't know what a modular motherboard is, so your words are piffle.

64 bit OS. It's fairly new, but I haven't seen a single problem in 3 months of use so far.

You've gotta run it on a pretty powerful machine and your processor has to be 64 bit. I've got 4 Gigs of RAM and it uses about 40% of that sitting still.

My iMacs and PowerBook run great and I don't need anything special.

Please respond to me. I can only look down my nose for another two minutes or so.

I think that Microsoft will make some good advertising with him. I read they were thinking about getting a couple other comedians on board as well. I'll be wating for them. I'm sick of people telling me why i should buy a mac when the majority of them have no idea why other than they liked the commercials.
