The DO pictures are all so boring....

But the don't pictures are for the most part classless or tasteless.

I think we need a happy medium.

nod

The trick is to find something that's not dull and uninteresting, but at the same time is flattering. The biggest problem with most of the DON'T pictures isn't style or design or anything, it's the fit.

Then yes, that can often be the case. It's partly due to not being able to find things that fit correctly. But also a lot of people don't pay attention to that, no matter their size. And the public at large is much more forgiving if a thin person has on clothes that are too tight than a larger person.

That's true. I am skinny and I look aweful in some trousers I try on, but it's still easy to find a pair that looks good. And I don't think I would get nearly as much negative attention if I wore a jean that was too tight than a heavier person.

i've been heavy & thin and i am equally fucked in all sizes trying to find pants. the fashion industry fucking hates the average tall woman. disbelief

And the very short woman.

All my pants are either hemmed by at least 6 inches, or out of the kids' department.

Nearly all of my pants are too long as well. Even though I am short, but not extremely short.

Oh, I have to hem positively everything. I'm average height but I was cursed with a long torso and short legs. I can't purchase anything with a nice, finished cuff or any detailing on the hem. pout

Don't cover yourself head-to-toe with shredded holes. (What's OK? One--maybe two, tops--little funky tears on your favorite pairs of jeans.)

Do aim for that easy, all-American look: crisp white tee and standard blue jeans. Done.

In this case, too, the "Don´t" picture is much much hotter than the "Do" picture.
lol

Yeah, it is. I love ripped jeans, but naturally ripped and frayed on the bottom legs. I don't like how people shell out $100 for pre-made distressed jeans. Nothin's better than broken in jeans....with your own patches on them.

My sister's got the opposite problem. Very long legs, but a short torso. The result is that even though she doesn't have to hem her pants, she's only got 2 1/2 inches on me in height. lol
