Don't ignore one simple rule every woman should know (and this means you!): When wearing denim that is white, avoid anything too tight.

Do pull off white jeans (before and after Memorial Day, thank you very much) by pairing 'em with a darker color on top. Add a colorful accessory to make your whole outfit pop.

That's actually the only do outfit I like.

Same here. This is a good do. The others are 'meh'.

Don't forget that, despite popular opinion, denim does not go with everything. Example number one is this woman's confusing decision to pair a bias-cut Western skirt with a pink lace top.

I'm not sure I would describe this as "bias-cut" hmm but it looks like she's pooping denim.

Do aim for that easy, all-American look: crisp white tee and standard blue jeans. Done.

But the don't pictures are for the most part classless or tasteless.

I think we need a happy medium.

The only jeans I wear are bootcut - either black or dark denim.

When you are a heavier woman it is a lot more difficult to find well-fitting clothes, that also may play a role.

duh I should concentrate before I type double-edit

What, what??? lol

I'm sorry to tell you, that is most certainly not the case. I have a hell of a time finding things to fit me right. I rarely had problems when I was at my thinnest (size 10). These days I wish I could just make my own clothes.

ooooohhhhh... lol

Then yes, that can often be the case. It's partly due to not being able to find things that fit correctly. But also a lot of people don't pay attention to that, no matter their size. And the public at large is much more forgiving if a thin person has on clothes that are too tight than a larger person.

That's true. I am skinny and I look aweful in some trousers I try on, but it's still easy to find a pair that looks good. And I don't think I would get nearly as much negative attention if I wore a jean that was too tight than a heavier person.

Don't go for denim dresses with tie-dyed washes or loud details. Stick to a clean-cut silhouette that will always be chic.

Do add a fitted blazer to any ol' pair of jeans for an instantly pulled-together look.

That do outfit is ugly and boring nod. She's a beautiful woman who hasn't got any individual style. The don't outfit ain't that bad IMO shrug.

I have to disagree.

The Don't looks TRASHY and the Do looks CLASSY.
