I love this thing...

It's 30GB and I have music, vids, audio books and pics on it. Plus it has an FM radio, microphone and an organizer.

I don't know how many thousands of songs I have on it and I still got space.

The best way to go is with an iPod and Best Buy's warranty.

I haven't paid for an iPod since the Gen 1 iPod.

I'm due for a new one in September!

It's made by Creative Labs. I've had it for about a year and it's been great so far. I bought it because I didn't want Itunes and because I thought Zen was a cool name. lol

They give credit for what you paid. Since the iPod drops in price every year, you can always get the next step up.

The 1st Gen was $500. When that one "broke" I bought one for $400 and the service plan for $60 bucks. $40 bucks left for games, CDs or whatever.

Wash rinse repeat every few years.

Only problem is now with Apple fucking people over for the touch. $400 for 16 Gigs should be illegal.

Mine is a iPod 20GB classic. I have had it for probably for 3 years now,and currently I have 1011 songs on it. I have most of them backed up,but most of them are out of my cd collection so I'm not to worried about it. It would'nt shut off so now it is dead, after I charge it I will see it smacking it on the side works. I really hope it can be saved, but if not I am going to get a 80GB one. I thought of getting a nano, but they only hold 2,000 songs. confused

Three years is about average for an iPod...from what I've been told. I had just sold my last one (a U2 from 2004) to a friend when it died in December 2006. I've had my current one since December 2006. I'm hoping they make 'em with a longer life expectancy now... pray

FWIW, my first iPod lasted for 6 years and the second one is that old and still working.

So you got them within a year of each other?

The first iPod came out in 2001.

when my Creative Zen 'died' I got pissed and threw it across the room at the wall...

Then on a whim, I charged it up and it worked again the next week
Turns out it wasn't dead, it was just in a coma smile

So I'm glad yours was too!
If you will, so will I

Yes. I was a compulsive upgrader before last year when I got an iPhone.
