If anyone else is looking for a similar type of deal, try Craigslist:

From the NY Daily News:

Many Craigslist online classifieds offer apartment rentals in exchange for sex
BY NICOLE LYN PESCE

Anyone browsing apartment rentals this week on the online classifieds Web site Craigslist.org couldn't help but notice a fantastic deal: $39 room rental in a "modern pad" in the Financial District. But click on the listing and you'll see the renter is looking for a "sexy open-minded, cool girl" to share a stocked bar, new gym, rooftop deck and more with a single male looking for a "benefits situation." Oh, and that $39 is just for the night. With summer rental season in full swing, plenty of New Yorkers are hitting the Web to simplify their apartment hunt. But they're finding themselves mining through, not only spam and scams, but plenty of veiled prostitution pitches.

"Bubbly hassle-free roommate wanted" reads one ad, where for just $580 a month, one lucky lady can share an upper West Side studio with a "fun, easygoing young male professional" who's willing to reduce the rent if you have "special skills" - such as massage.

Gawker posted a similar spot recently where a "rich, single, heterosexual guy" requests a live-in personal assistant. Said assistant enjoys a $2,000 apartment in exchange for cooking, cleaning and running errands, as well as "helping me stretch and giving me massages and walking on my back" because he's "pretty stiff."

While Craigslist's terms of use ban any "offer or solicitation of illegal prostitution," reps from the site declined to comment on the number of skeevy posts. The online classifieds do warn in their terms of use that "by using the service, you may be exposed to content that is offensive, indecent, inaccurate, misleading or otherwise objectionable." Users can flag offensive posts, which are reviewed by the staff and removed from the site.

Although the site states that offensive ads are automatically swept off before users see them, a quick scroll through Craigslist's New York rooms and shares dredges up plenty more questionable offers.

A "free $2,000 apartment for professional female model" is available courtesy of a "rich business owner" who is also a "serious amateur photographer." Of course, he specializes in nudes and erotic photography.

"I would be willing to let the right girl live there for FREE in exchange for her being at my call to be my model," he writes. To qualify you must be "attractive and sexy, like a 9 out of 10," as well as "very thin, size 0 or 2."
Forget references and pay stubs; posts like these only require that you submit your photo and a phone number.

Some offers are even more blatant. "Free room & board 2 for a female!" tempts another, with "everything you would ever need or want," including cable TV, a private phone, a computer with wireless Internet, a washer and dryer, and private parking. "All that would be required of you in exchange 4 this offer would be a friends with benefits agreement one day a week."

But don't worry, ladies: "You may decide what day would be best for you."

Some women write off the lewd listings as jokes or sorry attempts by wanna-bes looking for love. "I definitely came across some, but never responded to them. I mostly just saw them, laughed, and moved on," says Beth Schechner, 25, from the upper West Side. One randy realtor offered a cheap room if the renter would sleep with him in his bed! "It was funny because the guy felt the need to preface with 'I'm not crazy!'" she says. "I don't know who actually responds to those. I'm guessing no one."

"I think New York is such a diverse place that [skeevy posters] might feel as though they are bound to find one person who is probably okay with it," says Anne Urda, 28, from Manhattan, who skips past these ads. "It's amazing what people will do here for cheap rent and a roof over their heads, you know?"

For those looking to weed out sketchy posts, keep an eye out for words like "adventurous," "open," "benefits" and even "fun." This kind of seemingly innocent language can be a red flag.

Kristina Creek, 26, knows firsthand. While shopping on Craigslist for a motorcycle, she came across a listing that teased, "I am open to price negotiation based on the barter system." Curious, Creek phoned the poster's number and left him a message. "When he called back, he left a voice mail explaining that the 'bartering' he had in mind was trading a discount for sex!" she says. "I believe I am quoting verbatim: 'The more adventurous you are willing to be, the more money I'll take off the bike.'

"I didn't return the call," she adds.
