What's the most amazing thing you've ever seen in sports? For me, it was Mike Tyson's 1988 knockout of Michael Spinks. We all knew Tyson was an up-and-comer, but Spinks had never lost, and had been knocked down in his professional career only once. We thought Tyson might ultimately win in 12 rounds or so, or he might lose, but I NEVER thought he'd do this:
I was watching this with about 10,000 other people at Houston's Summitt arena. It was incredible.

The way this man conducted himself on and off the field right up to his very end. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Magic Johnson's performance in Game 6 of the 1980 NBA Finals, and he did this AS A ROOKIE. Michael Jordan's "The MOVE" in Game 2 of the 1991 NBA Finals. Eli Manning-to-David Tyree("The Connection") in Super Bowl XLII GO GIANTS!!!!!

Tiger Woods winning the US Open with a broken leg. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Sort of a backwards take on this, but seeing Mike Tyson get knocked out by Buster Douglas was like seeing the sun rise at night. I never imagined Tyson being knocked out! My Legacy

Okay, not that amazing, but seeing my alma mater (#5 seed, first trip to the Big Dance in about 30 years) get beat at the buzzer after they fought back from a 16 point deficit in last year's NCAA tournament was heartbreaking.
Seeing the Bulls win their 6th championship in Chicago! In person: seeeing Carl Lewis run at Drake Relays (he got beat by Obadele Thompson), also Michael Johnson and Gwen Torrence smoke everyone in the 200. I also got to see the US Men's Olympic volleyball team play Cuba, which was very cool.
