Christiane F

Has anyone ever seen this film its one of the most shocking portrails of heroin addiction I have ever seen. Its about a 14 year old female heroin addict in berlin who has to prostitute herself for heroin and when she can no longer bear to do it her boyfriend has to sell his arse to some sick old perv. It really is a scary film and if this doesnt put you off heroin nothing will. I also believe david bowie did the soundtrack for it.

i've read about this film and i think i'll have to pass.

i'm already pretty much scared to death to get into drugs and films like this depress the hell out of me.

apparently, it's based on a true story and this woman is still alive and i think she's still a heroin addict.

One of the things that scarred me most about this film was when there parents found out that they were heroin addicts. they locked them in a room for 3 days so they could detox and it showed them rolling around in pain then when they eventually did get clean. They went back to hang out with there old friends and within a few hours they were back on the stuff all that pain for nothing. The whole film is on youtube but its the original german version with subs. With regards to trainspotting its no where near as dark as this film trainspotting has alot of humour in it.

first off i love this film! it is raw and really intense. i thought that scene where the mother had them in for days in christiane's bedroom was weird too. how can you leave 2 minors who are trying to quit drugs alone in a room unsupervised?? i never understood that. the mother was totally casual about it all.

I saw this movie when I was 13 years old.. I didn't like the way it made me feel at all... very surreal ( for me) I own the book too.. there's a picture in it of her friend Babsi.. that girl looked so sad.. that picture stayed with me all my life..

I can't say it was the reason to keep me off of drugs, ( I never was atraacted to try them..but I think it's a good idea to show this film at schools ( that's where I saw it) Or at least to put it on the booklist nod
The Borg... Partypoopers of the galaxy.. ( Medical Hologram )

..Where is my lovelife.. where can it be?? There must be something wrong with the machinery..

i own this DVD basically for the bowie concert scene (plus i have the soundtrack, which is a great sampler of bowie's berlin-era classics). i sat through the whole movie once and though it wasn't bad, i don't think i'd put myself through it again. way bleak. though the background music is wall to wall bowie, so ya can't beat that. thumbs up!

Just seen this!! At last! Someone who knows Christiane F. I've been asking people if they've known/seen this film for YEARS! No one ever has! I just bought the dvd again recently, I first watched it when I was really young, and yes it scared the life out of me, and put me off EVER trying drugs!! Brilliant film, love the David Bowie concert part, and I've bought the soundtrack too, although I haven't got around to listening to it yet.... cool!

Really?!! God, that's SO sad... Well, it says it on Amazon on the reviews of the film that it should be compulsory viewing in schools for teenagers, I totally agree!

DAMN!!! shocked

I read the book like 4 years ago and I'm afraid the film would ruin the whole thing...

I'm not attracted by drugs ( although I got friends who are) but I can't say I never gave it a try... Maybe I don't need this because I'm naturally high...
Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

Drugs are scary. Heroin scares me to death. Never tried it and don't plan to. I have kids though and I hope they stay away from it.

Bowie's part was filmed in New York, i think the audience scenes were from a heavy metal concert.
Bowie did his bit for free, because the producers let him use the set for his video for Fashion.
The audio for his performance of Station To Station was taken from the Stage album.
