Good luck! I have a friend who is always saying that the people who stop smoking are the people who keep trying to stop smoking. That is, it takes them several attempts to quit, and they eventually succeed. I guess this is statistically true.

Think of all the things you'll replace smoking with in your life and make a list. I think it's easier to move toward what you want than to move away from what you don't want. Embrace the dream!

And of course you can do it, if you really want to. My dad quit after 46 years smoking a couple of packs a day. Anyone can do it if he can. It's a turn for the positive. smile

Good luck, Carrie! I hope that the party went okay and that you were able to keep away from the ciggies.

I don't know if this has been asked already but have you tried Chantix (sp?) It's some pill that supposed to help with the nicotine cravings, I think. A friend of the family was on it and it helped him quit.

In anycase....Congrats on quitting, I know that you can do it. hug

My mom never smoked. But my step-dad, Dad and step-mom all used to smoke and they all quit successfully in the 80s. They saved a lot of money by quitting those habits decades ago!
