I think you need to write the story to the Amy Winehouse "Graphic Novel" that has these pictures instead of illustrations. My Legacy

Prince ain't cool And trampsing around with twins at each side, wearing the same caked on makeup he did in his 20's to look younger, doesn't help either. Prince is still building a mystery for himself with a supposed mystique that has long ago lost it's luster. Where other artists have become more open and more honest with their music as they aged, Prince still claims that if he stops counting he'll live as long as a tree, or that NATO and OTAN and digital gardens somehow amount to a hill of beans to the hard working folks who save up money to see his concerts of truncated greatests hits. It's a wonder Trent Reznor keeps getting sexier while Prince gets more irrelevant. Prince ain't cool. Please. Prince is so beyond cool that he's in another category. There's the "cool" that relies on other people's opinions and perceptions to be reality, and there's the "cool" that exists without any need of external validation. You normally only get to that second version after spending a HUGE amount of time in that first version. Prince no longer needs the fans to be happy in order to be considered cool. He's beyond that embryonic stage of the word at this point. But even with that, one of the coolest Prince moments I've ever seen was during his concert when he took center stage by himself and his guitar, and performed intimate acoustic versions of his rock-and-funked-up hits...he was friendly, charismatic as hell, effortlessly funny, and in complete control of the entire arena with just his guitar and his bad self. And ultimately that's what "cool" means: control. Control of yourself, of your environment, of the room and the people in it, without even batting an eye. Prince no longer needs the "Planet Earths" he puts out to be big sellers or start new trends to be cool.

Back in the 1980s I had two great aunts who were in their late 60s/early 70s and they were cool as hell.
One of them was rich and after her husband died, she started driving a Corvette, then she got her a Mercedes, and then she got her a young man in his early 40s that was a year or two younger than her own son. One of my other great aunts was dirt poor but she was a punk rocker from hell. She had spiked pink hair and wore leather mini skirts and fishnet stockings. She reminded me of Phillis Diller gone punk. She wanted her a young man also but she didn't have no money to get one. I always admired these cool ass ladies and have always said that when I get old I would be just like them. Unfornately, the generation younger than me decided to go backwards, stop dressing wild, and become slow. Hanging with young folks when I get old would be totally uncool because it would be the older generation that is fast and wild as hell. The young folks switched places and became slow and tame. . . . I'm sayin' lol ...Cool is being completely in control, having extreme confidence, and sincerely not giving a fuck what anyone thinks of you. There's no way Prince doesn't fit that definition lol ...throw on some charisma and obscene talent, and it's a done deal. ...cool is also making edit statements. [Edited 8/18/08 11:41am]

i don't think "cool" is considered cool these days. it's more important to be "hip" or "trendy".
