~ washing/ironing: I don't iron....EVER. I don't mind wrinkles. I think washing is easiest for me because I have a second floor laundry room, on the same floor as my bedrooms. ~ vacuuming: The vacuuming part is not so bad. It's the cleaning up the clutter part that's annoying. [/b] ~ washing dishes: I can't wait to get a dishwasher. I've been making myself do the dishes every night so it's not so bad lately. It just sucks when you put the dishes off night after night. ~ dusting/polishing: I HATE DUSTING! It's so boring. The people in the Swiffer commercial make it look so easy. ~Garbage: I have to clean the litter box, take out the garbage from both floors and put the recycle box out too. I almost always put this off until 10 o'clock at night. I hate garbage night. But I would gladly do all those things and then some if the man I'm with agrees to be in charge of lawn mowing and snow blowing. I hate mowing the lawn with all my being. Julie, I am with you on most of these. However... snow blowing? What is this?! Should I ask? This is snowblowing. It sucks! Shake it til ya make it

Just 9 more posts until this aweful thread catches fire folks.
Chores I hate: 1) washing dishes 2) vacumming 3) ironing 4) folding clothes Chores I'm ok with: 1) throwing loads in the laundry 2) cooking (yes, thats a chore if you HAVE to do it). 3) dusting Chores I like but don't do 1) mowing the lawn. I found that it just took too much out of my weekends so I hire a company to do it.

I HATE:
picking up after everyone else, 80% of the housework I do is simply returning things to where they belong. getting kids up, dressed, fed and ready for school vacuuming mopping I DON'T iron, EVER I don't mind dishes (dishwasher) laundry putting out the garbage spring cleans (which I'm a bit overzealous about) DAN!!! I cleaned out that messy room on Friday, it can now be recognised as a child's room, not not his parent's junk room

I couldn't live w/o a dishwasher, the shit is just necessary...
Washing clothes only sucks b/c I usually have several loads to do @ a time, it takes hours & by the time I'm done I really don't wanna do shit else. & I'm lucky if I fold as I go, otherwise I got a huge pile of clothes on the bed for a damn week! I think the absolute WORST is cleaning bathtubs that have those shitty track doors By the time you blast enough water in those grooves to get out the soap scum, your whole fucking floor is wet. & its hard to get to all the spots without actually getting IN the damn tub, which sucks 'cause then you gotta worry about getting cleaning products on your feet! Vacuuming & dusting ain't so bad, just boring as hell...

i like washing clothes, mostly because the washing machine and dryer do all the work for me, all i do is throw them in and turn it on.
doing the dishes is no big deal...i have a dishwasher. i don't mind to vacum. what i like the least is cleaning the bathtub, putting all my sons toys away, and folding and ironing our clothes. that sucks!

I just tidy the bedroom, that's it, just dust all the surfaces, sweep the floor, that kinda thing. I make the bed sometimes too. I can't say I do any washing, ironing, cooking, or wash any dishes. This is a traditional Thai household.

Ex-Moderator | I only dust when I know someone's coming over.
And even then, I do a pretty bad job of it. I do dishes fairly regularly and don't mind them so much. I wonder what it's like to have a dishwasher, though. I never have, my entire life. Laundry is a necessary evil. I miss having a free washer and dryer right outside my apartment door. Now it's expensive and I have to climb 3 flights of stairs. Oh, well, it's good for my calves. I iron as needed, though, which means I iron almost every single morning. I don't mind it. It's part of my morning routine. I have hardwood floors, so sweeping and mopping are part of my cleaning process. It's not too bad. I vaccuum my furniture of cat hair, though. |

Vacuuming & dusting ain't so bad, just boring as hell... The only thing that works for getting in the grooves of my shower door are using an old toothbrush . I can't tell you how irritating it is to explain to your other half WHY we have to keep up on keeping the shower cleaned regularly, otherwise it leads to a 2 hour saga of me scrubbing tracks with a toothbrush and chemicals equal to weapons of mass destruction. I had to tell him, "LOOK, do you know that between all the damn chemicals in my hair, and the chemicals in this scum cleaner, when I do this I might COMBUST?. brothaman we gotta keep it clean in here " Anyhoo...when I have to get inside to do it I just put old plastic shopping bags or disposable shower caps on my feet. Freezer bags work too, to keep your skin from getting irritated [Edited 8/18/08 2:05am]

The Mdiver vs. Imago picmash was priceless! Thanks guys!!!
As for chores... I get the kids up, dressed and fed in the AM. I do 60% of the laundry... no one irons... that's for the cleaners. I do 100% of the cooking unless it's take-out night. I'm in charge of cleaning the living room. I fix the car... (does that count?) I do all the grocery shopping. 'nuff said... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon
