When Pigeons Cry

Alright...which one of you was responsible for this???

Pigeon found at NYC playground was painted purple
Sat Aug 16, 4:20 AM ET

NEW YORK - Pigeons come in many shades in New York City but purple is typically not one of them.

That's why animal lover Joe Mora was stunned when he saw a pigeon at a Queens playground that had been painted a violet hue.

The pigeon was taken Friday to licensed wildlife rehabilitator Bobby Horvath. He said the bird is unable to fly because the feathers are completely rigid from the paint. But he says the animal is lucky its mouth or eyes didn't get stained.

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals spokesman Joseph Pentangelo says if the bird was intentionally painted it "certainly" qualifies as animal cruelty.

lol Too funny. lol Although I feel sorry for the poor pigeon being unable to fly because its feathers are rigid from being painted. I would think they they could use something to remove the paint? hmmm Maybe not, since it could do more harm then good.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Depending on what type of paint used...it may have already killed the bird (toxins leaching in through the skin)...but I don't feel TOO bad - there's too many of them as it is.

well under Wisconsin's Here Kitty, Kitty law, i'd say this certainly does not qualify as animal cruelty.

Parakeets are definitely noisy. I went to a pet store here once, and there was a cute parakeet. I went up to talk to it, and it started screeching real loud. omg lol I had to walk away, because the sound was almost deafening.

City chicken! They always list it as squab on the menu.

Pigeons (actually most birds) freak me out...but especially pigeons...they are like rats with wings. I detest them!
