A judge has ruled that Hulk Hogan must pay ex-wife Linda $40,000 a month in alimony payments for the time being.

Hulk never experienced a body slam like that in the ring.

The Hogan family has hit upon hard times. Parents split up, son Nick is in jail and daughter Brooke is looking a little...trannie-licious.

Despite claiming he misses his cougar wife, that ruling must make him a little sore.

Their combined assets are temporarily off-limits, but he is allowed to withdraw up to $400,000 to pay his lawyers.

The divorce court judge also ruled that Linda will retain their Bel Air estate, and Hulk must pay for all of the utilities.

There is nothing so painful as paying for the electricity and heating which will allow your ex-wife to romance her 19-year-old lover in comfortable, palatial surroundings.

But there's a reason women are/were awarded alimony in divorces. Historically, the man is the sole (or major) breadwinner in a family, the woman has forgone making any money of her own in lieu of supporting her husband, house and family (particularly if the man is wealthy enough to take care of the family on his salary alone). If they get divorced and she is now expected to take care of herself financially, she's at square one. No job, no money, no house and most often it goes to her to take care of any children. It is only fair that for a certain period of time at least, that she not be made homeless with no income, essentially thrown out on the street, now that he (or whoever) has deemed they're no longer going to honor their vows. This is particualrly crucial if it's been a number of years. Imagine 20 years of being out of the workforce busting your butt to raise your children, keep a clean and happy home and ensure your spouse is supported in every way possible to find the success s/he dreams of financially and professionally and then being cut off completely and trying to apply for a job with no resume or experience to speak of.

I realize things today may be different than even in the 50's, 60's and 70's, so things may be slowly changing. But when a man is the sole money-maker in a marriage, it's frankly only fair. And heck, women pay palimony now when the tables and roles are reversed. Overall, it's a fair and just idea.

reading some of the responses from the so-called men on this thread is quite disturbing.

Linda Hogan held down the homefront for many a decade while Hulk Hogan was basically an absentee dad. He was touring and away from home constantly. Linda stayed home and raise the children and kept a comfortable home for the family. She is entitled to alimony to keep her in the lifestyle that she is accustomed to.

She does not deserve venereal diseases, life threatening injuries, or death. In fact, no one really deserves those things.

That being said, my life experience has taught me that I would never want to be a woman without a career. It puts a woman in a much too vulnerable spot if something goes wrong (death, divorce, etc.).

I wish nothing but the best for this family because they are going through an incredibly tough time.

there are, however, some things that Linda has been asking for that are less than admirable...Hulk and Linda were purchasing a property in Las Vegas...the paticular property had a deposit placed on it before the divorce began and before the accident with Nick and his friend...since the divorce, Linda has pushed the issue that the property still be purchased...I can't recall the dollar amount for this property but it was lofty...seems to me like a silly attempt to acquire even more assests that would have to be split...

I heard Hulk in an interview recently talking about Nicks accident and the need to provide some sort of care/monetary assistance for the guy that was injured...there of course could be civil action that demands it but from the sound of it, Hulk wanted to provide it wether required or not...I think Linda is no doubt entitled to her share of what they built together but at the same time she should realize that this accident issue is bigger than their divorce and stop concerning herself about properties in Vegas...
