Dippin dots is being touted as the "ice cream of the future", but I've never even tried them, because they just don't appeal to me. I can't get too excited about ice cream that is made into little circles. They kind of remind me of nonpareil candies that you put on top of cookies or candy, for some reason. If I'm going to have some ice cream, I would rather just eat the smooth creamy kind. I'm not willing to settle for a cheap imitation. Why mess with a good thing such as ice cream, which is perfectly great the way it is? Has anyone here ever tried them, and are they any good?

Were you just watching Unwrapped?

I have tried it. It's ok. An interesting novelty, but it's too cold.

i'm sure it tastes just fine but it doesn't look like the shape serves any purpose. i like ice cream in big chunky lumps, either on a bowl or on a cone or on a stick. i don't want it in little pebble form. what's that about? no. do not want.

i like those little chocolate covered round ice cream things, they're like ice cream bon bons or something. i forget what they're called, scabs? something like that. they're good.

My state amusement park has a Dipping Dots stand and a Dove ice cream bar stand. I always go for the Dove. Chocolate covered ice cream on a stick just seems to make more sense.

Dippin Dots are actually good, but the teeny doses of ice cream are extraordinarily frustrating. They're like watching an adult film on a scrambled cable channel as a kid.
