Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

burn my ass up, toss me in an urn, and prop that shit on a bar. take the money it would have cost to rent a funeral home and use it to get my friends and loved ones drunk. after that, i really don't care what to do with the ashes. take 'em to iceland and dump em in gulfoss.

I want my ashes buried, I don't want no one to hold on to it, that's gross.
shake
Because they'd be grieving, and might make an emotional decision to keep it,
I'm gonna put that in my last wishes!
(for their own good)

i still have my mom's ashes. i put some of them in our back yard over the summer when we planted a tree, so there could be part of her there as we watch the tree grow. the rest of her ashes i'm taking whenever we get a chance to go to england. she loved the beatles and 60s british hipster/"mod" culture, so i'm spreading the rest of her ashes in liverpool. she never had a chance to visit when she was alive, so i figured she can at least be put to rest there. nod

That's cool! thumbs up!
My dad still has my brother's ashes but I don't think it's good for him to hang on to it
because he has a measure of guilt because of my brother's death (but that's a different thread),
at one time he was going to bury it but never did, so it's around somewhere.

But I like the idea of it putting it in the ground when you plant a tree.

I told my family that I worked too damn hard for my money for you to buy a plot of dirt and a big rock with it and then have somebody give me a bad makeup job. Ashes to Ashes, dust to dust I say. Cremation! Then give me a really nice looking urn that is decorative if you want to keep what's left of my body nearby.

cremated and then mixed into paints to be used in a painting.
as long as the painting is of something that reminds others of me, i'll be ok.

I was leaning more toward creamation. But I think I'm toally fine with a pine box. Although they would need to Martha Stewartize it a bit and choose an attractive varnish for it, and it should be imprinted with my intials, and maybe one of my favorite quotes. I want it something minimalist, but with impact sun

I don't want to burn, and I don't want to be in the ground so that leaves a mausoleum.

In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.
