I'm going to have too many shows to watch!!!

I never used to watch TV. NEVER. I went years without turning on a television set, but gradually it seems I've become a TV addict. And now I'm actually really excited about the fall season starting up. I'm disgusted with myself, but I'm considering getting Tivo. confused

I can't wait for Lost,Dexter,House,This American Life,Pushing Daises,Dirty Sexy Money, and Supernatural to come back. I skipped season 2 of Heroes but I think they might win me back for season 3. I've never watched Reaper, but people keep telling me how kick ass that is, and I do feel the need to see what is going to happen next on Gossip Girl. Then there is a whole new crop of shows I'm basicly salivating for.

Here's a run down of the new TV crack I will be wasting hours of my life on in a just a short couple of weeks.

Fringe

J. J. Abrams makes a show starring the hot voiced guy from Dawson's Creek. drool

Wikipedia says "Like Abrams' previous TV shows, it will have an overarching mythology" Omg. I am so ready for this, but I just get the feeling it won't last. Hope I'm wrong. geek

True Blood

I'm sure you have all been assaulted with the fake blood ads for HBO's new Vampire show. It's made by the same guy as Six Feet Under. I'm super curious about this but I'm gaurded about Vampire shows since Moonlight turned out to be so freaking unwatchable. confused I'm not sure I'll watch further than the 3 episode rule.

90210

I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain this one. woot!

And then there is .....

Dollhouse

Kinda like Alias but with a Sci Fi twist.
And it's Whedon...like hello?? woot!

Ok so that's all I can recall right now...

What shows are you guys excited about?

I know I'm not alone.

Netfix should let you watch Tv shows on the computer like they do the movies. Rich would get mad if I junked up the queque with TV shows.

Yeah, but the cast from Beverly Hills, 90210 was actually filled with interesting people. I seen a knock-off from the cast of Degrassi and I knew that this new rehash was just going to be a trial run. shrug Maybe it's just me, though.

oh my god, i'd be in high hog heaven if i could netflix tv shows on my computer.

as for junking up the queue, i always keep tv shows at the bottom and pop one disc to the top when i'm feeling movied-out. then again, my bf and i have separate netflix queues, so the only person i annoy with my netflixing habits is myself.

I'm not saying it's going to be my favorite show or anything, but I'm really interested in where they take it. I watch shows for 3 episodes then I decide if I wanna keep watching. I'll see if it sucks I won't watch. I really loved it when I was in middle school though. lol

separate queues is a good idea. nod

I don't see why they don't have the TV shows instantly. Maybe it's some kind of licensing thing.

I used to watch a LOT of TV. I could have told you what was on every channel every night of the week.

I can't even be bothered with it any more. But I do try to pick out a show each season to watch as it airs. Last year it was Heroes, after picking up the season 1 DVD's. The previous year it was Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I kind of got burned by both. And I really don't like having to remember to tune in each week.

I think I might just skip it this year and then go for the DVD's of something that's got good buzz a year from now.

I think the aborted season last year plus my dissatisfaction with the quality of Heroes has cured me of the need to check out anything as it's airing. But then, I'll probably hang in there with Heroes for a few weeks to see if it's turned itself around.

I've always wanted to see Dexter. Season 1 came on Showtime, but then they started showing Season 2 on CBS. wtf? I didn't watch because I couldn't see Season 1.....no Showtime. Showtime air some pretty interesting shows. The only Showtime dvd set that I've purchased blind was their Masters of Horror Season 1. I don't know of any shows I'm looking forward to this Fall.....NFL.... Next Top Model (bored getting bored with Tyra's bs). I started out watching Heroes, but got caught up with other things and fell off track with it. I'm usually a channel surfer.....just whatever catches my interest at the moment.

They showed season 1 on CBS, not season 2. I really really really loved season 1 because it stuck close to the books. Season 2 they went off on their own and the show suffered. I'm hoping they can pull off a better season 3. But still it's freaking Dexter, how can you not love him? David was my favorite on Six Feet under too. Just about every show they put on Showtime is amazing! I keep telling everyone they need to get Showtime!

It's getting close to the end of this season of Weeds and I wish they had that show on all year.

I don't like sports and I like Next Top Model, but I never remember to tune in. I just watch the marathons they have on sometimes. redface

heroes sucked, but it didn't suck as bad as lost did when it sucked for a few episodes in a row the season before last. that's kind of my barometer of tv show suckage at the moment.

everyone tells me I should do Lost, but I tried about 20 minutes of it the second season and was totally living up to the show's title. I keep meaning to pick it up on DVD and catch up that way, but I don't know if I'm up to the committment.

my love for season 1 is what's going to bring me back too. and i'm going to check out season 2 on DVD, and hopefully watching it all back-to-back like i did S1 will renew my interest. but with Heroes, i'm wondering how far into S3 i'm going to have to wade before i figure out whether it's any good or not. because it can turn around in one episode confused

Oh, I was thinking there were some issues with Showtime & they started airing them on CBS. That happened with Masters of Horror. Season 3 is now on NBC as Fear Itself. It's not as good as Masters of Horror though. They cut out a lot of gore & context. Plus, someone said they got a crew of different writers because it was during the U.S writer's strike. Yeah, they do show those model marathon a lot. lol After I see the episodes the first time, then I usually can't really watch them again, so I skip the marathons.

I've only seen one episode of Fear Itself that was worth watching. Most have been superlame. I totally missed Masters of Horror, I kept meaning to watch but just never did.

Dexter
Battlestar (In fucking '09)

That's about it.

I heard Tru Blood is about as awful as TV can get. That's from the completed pilot, viewed by a 6 Feet Under fan.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I figured. The ad campain is way too out of control. I'll give it a shot though.

I can't bring myself to watch Battlestar. I'm a geek, no doubt about it, but I fear that becming obsessed with that show like so many people are, would be crossing a line I could never uncross. I feel this way about comics too. I read the Buffy and Angel comics, but I'm scared to venture further into that world. redface

Yeah, so many fans of Season 1 & 2 are pretty pissed about Fear Itself. Sometimes NBC skips episodes to show an extended America's Got Talent. That makes me think they're not even gonna finish out the season. sad I at least wanna see if they're gonna get better, because even though MoH seems better overall.....the series still had duds in the bunch.
