(a) Hopes (b) Realistic thinking (c) Worst case scenario Tough one, i am old skool spurs mate and have been here too often but i think we need/have to push on and be consistent. I am concerned about goals, Robbie gone, Bent is a cunt and Berbie is wobbly and untried without Robbie. We need a big name striker in before the close of the window. [a] Top 4 [b] Realistic UEFA cup qualification via league instead of cup [c] Wenger takes over at the Lane, sells everyone to Chelsea for a pound, shits in the goal and then leaves. The Lane is burned to the ground and donated to the Gunners fund. Or worst case scenario Arsenal win something

Just have to finalise when that will be and then we'll know what we're doing. Where do you live again? Surrey? Just outside London somewhere? It's not far from Cheltenham though is it, if I remember correctly.

Fauxie said: Lifelong Liverpool fan here, born in Brighton and raised in Cheltenham. Seen them play about five or six times, mostly at Villa Park. Though I was lucky enough to be at the game Gerrard came on as a second half sub against Blackburn in 1998 for his debut (or home debut?).
Definitely excited about the new season. Can't wait to see if we'll finish 3rd or 4th. hopefully they can pull off a real challenge this year, although after their dismal game on wed i,m not so sure. hopefully the pieces will fall into place this year.

Football is gaelic here. how do you feel about losing robbie to us? also, has berbatov gone yet? If Robbie wants to go then he should go, i dont want anyone there that does not want to be, i am fucked off because we put his career back on track and after the carling cup win he pledged his future to Spurs so if he wants to go then fuck him. Berbie i think will go but only once Arshavin (SP) Or Villa are signed. I guess we will see i am still not convinced. i feel very sorry for some of the spurs fans who went & got his name on the back of their shirt. one thing though, he is a proven goal scorer. he drives me nuts when playing for ireland.

Berbie i think will go but only once Arshavin (SP) Or Villa are signed. I guess we will see I think Keane was a better fit for Spurs than Liverpool, to be honest. I'm not convinced it'll be the best career move for him. I think he could go the way of Harry Kewell. I like the look of the young strikers we have. Hopefully they'll get some first team opportunities instead of banging goals in for the reserves for season after season. Why the fuck is Voronin still at Liverpool? kewell turned into such a waste of space. the turkish are welcome to him. the only good thing about voronin is that he was free. i think the team is vastly improved. skrytel, masch, torres are all brill. some of the new lads look good too, heres hoping.

Fauxie said: mdiver said: I agree with you, he looked good at SPurs, and admittedly he was but i dont know how he will fit with Torres and WITHOUT Berbie. Who knows, but now he has done this i HOPE he goes the same way as Kewell We'll see, I guess. For some reason I just can't picture Keane with us in a few years time having been a massive success. Glad we didn't buy Barry. I still think we have a better player in Alonso. Poor season by his standards last year, probably due to injuries, but I don't think Barry is better in any way, and certainly doesn't justify 18 million or whatever it would've cost. What do you think? i agree, a lot of shit went on with alonso at the end of last season, he is cup-tied now so hopefully they will keep him.

That's the thing. We get Liverpool FCTV out here and sometimes I catch old games, and when I see sides from '98, '99, even up to '05, I quickly try to see who was in the team and when I see who was playing then it makes me glad for the players we've brought in since. I just watched a game against Villa where we were playing Fowler and Morientes up front and brought Cisse on late in the game and thought, 'thank God we now have Torres!'. In other games I've seen Babb, Scales, Ruddock etc. at the back and yet Roy Evans took us to second in the league. There's no doubt the team's better, but is it good enough in this day and age?

Morientes turned into an awful dud as well. this season will be the real test for torres. where are you from?
