Soccer/Footie Fans

i'm really excited about the Premiership starting up again.

i am a huge Liverpool fan. Hopefully the team is stronger this year, we have to challenge well for the title.

i love the start of the season because anything can happen. there is room for optimism in all teams.

any soccer fans out there?
who do you support?

Lifelong Liverpool fan here, born in Brighton and raised in Cheltenham. Seen them play about five or six times, mostly at Villa Park. lol Though I was lucky enough to be at the game Gerrard came on as a second half sub against Blackburn in 1998 for his debut (or home debut?).

Definitely excited about the new season. Can't wait to see if we'll finish 3rd or 4th. falloff

How about more stickies for football threads in GD?
Any makey-up US sport seems to get one.

The Premiership is OK but I prefer La Liga. Amunt Valencia!

If Robbie wants to go then he should go, i dont want anyone there that does not want to be, i am fucked off because we put his career back on track and after the carling cup win he pledged his future to Spurs so if he wants to go then fuck him.

Berbie i think will go but only once Arshavin (SP) Or Villa are signed.

I guess we will see

I think Keane was a better fit for Spurs than Liverpool, to be honest. I'm not convinced it'll be the best career move for him. I think he could go the way of Harry Kewell.

I like the look of the young strikers we have. Hopefully they'll get some first team opportunities instead of banging goals in for the reserves for season after season.

Why the fuck is Voronin still at Liverpool?

I agree with you, he looked good at SPurs, and admittedly he was but i dont know how he will fit with Torres and WITHOUT Berbie.

Who knows, but now he has done this i HOPE he goes the same way as Kewell lol

You can post here, Petra. The thread seems to be about more than just the English Premiership if you consider the last couple of lines of the OP's initial post. We'll allow your crest and your future posts, up to a point. mad

We'll see, I guess. For some reason I just can't picture Keane with us in a few years time having been a massive success.

Glad we didn't buy Barry. I still think we have a better player in Alonso. Poor season by his standards last year, probably due to injuries, but I don't think Barry is better in any way, and certainly doesn't justify 18 million or whatever it would've cost. What do you think?

Alonso is a far better player than Barry and the idea to pay 18mil for that dumb ass is a joke, he is a 8-10mil max player.
