Alternative Cancer Treatment

Interesting info on an alternative to radiation therapy for cancer patients.

This is Heiress' mom.

There is at least one study that I know of that addresses this very question. Published in the journal Clinical Oncology in December 2004, the results of this study were astounding, showing that chemotherapy has an average 5-year survival success rate of just over 2 percent for all cancers!

Thank you for this information. Such an insidious disease and any new findings on this is a welcome thing. The stats on this are interesting. I've often wondered about "alternative" treaments for cancer and how effective they are.
This gives some insight into what I've been curious about.

BlueZebra

this is interesting information.

Please note that chemotherapy and radiation therapy are not the same thing.
they are seperate treatments that are usually used in combination for cancer treatment.

I personally don't believe much in 'alternative' therapy (due to personal experience, but not with cancer). which doesn't mean I wouldn't look into all possibilities if my - or my loved ones- life was in the balance.

thumbs up!

Interesting.
Not sure exactly what the purpose of each treatments are, but personally, I prefer natural if I ever was faced with cancer, but that's just me.

And looking into all the possibilities is a balanced way to go about seeking treatment for a serious illness, cause what works for one, may not work for another.

I always remember the experince of a friend's daughter when medical doctors didn't know what was wrong with her and prescribed medications and so forth,
while nothing worked for her. The mom was desperate and went to see someone in the natural field, long story short, they recommended whatever treatment was needed using natural/alternative way, and she turned out fine afterwards, and is still alive today.

Anyway, Heiress wanted me to convey a point from her mothers experience, (I just copied and pasted)
She said:
my mother was supposed to have chemotherapy AND radiation treatments - at st joseph's medical center, where she is, they have alternatives for both.
