its some samsung sliding thing. i pushed some button or something and the screen wont shut off like it did when i got it a few days ago.

how do i get it back to the way it was before?

If you can be a little more specific, I might be able to help you reset it to factory settings.

Have you put a bunch of numbers and such into it yet?

If you take out the battery, it will have a sticker telling you the model. It is also possible that will fix your problem. If not, I'll look it up after I eat.
