he was 17, and just came to canada from Jamaica...wooh.. so it was Caribana season, so my cousin and i had gone by ourselves...and i admit, i was dressed pretty.. unusual for a 14 year old at the time, had my (flat, at the time) belly out and i was looking good... we had a blast (litterally, ran for our lives when we heard gun fire ) and we were coming back to her apartment in toronto.. there's a neighbouring apartment where most of her friends lived. and she had this one friend named andre (i think?), and he was kind of into her... turns out, he had a cousin who was up visiting, and eventually moving here, his name was Dewane (or something like that) he caught my eye and i, his... and it was just a staring competition between us while the other two were talking smack back and forth.. so my cousin and i go upstairs and she was like "ooh i think he likes you!"...as she says that, her phone rings... it's andre saying D wanted to speak to me..man if i don't think i've ever heard a smoother, sexier accent than that of a jamaican man/boy.. not to be biased anyways, we talked for a bit and he said he wanted to come over so we could hang out... and i was like sure but what are we going to talk about NOTE: i'm HORRIBLE with boys/men/relationships/whatever, so even at 14 i knew it would be disastrous... i was klutzy awkward and had retainer and bad acne - i was a MESS, but he liked... i dunno hahah just know i wasn't a pretty picture at this age. and he was like, we'll talk about anything you want to, i just want to see you.. so blah blah they come over a few minutes later, andre goes to hang out with shelly my cousin, and D stays with me, and we talk for what must've been like 10 minutes...then his loud mouth hoodrat sister comes back and was like "we gotta go NOW NOW NOW" so they're leaving for the elevator and me, mustering up all the courage in the world, i say "so what, you're leaving without a hug?" and he got the CUTEST smile on his face and came back and gave me a hug... he was so hot, my goodness, hard body and all, and he was only 17! alright so NEXT DAY right, they come back over and we're all chillin in the hallway and shelly and dre start whipping pennies out of NOWHERE @ us, so D is all of a sudden like, yo let's go in the stairwell where it's quiet... so i, being naive, was like sure ok... so we're there and we're just shootin the shit and asking questions to each other - one of them being if i've ever been kissed, i replied simply with no,and kept talking... he got this sly smile on his face and i looked @ him and i asked what was so funny and he said "nothing - just thinking about something you told me" and i back-tracked through everything until i hit the question about the kiss and he was like "THAT'S what i was thinking about" so, playing dumb i said "well what about it?" and he replies "i want to kiss you" my 14 year old heart nearly exploded RIGHT THERE. here i was, this 14 year old dork who's never had ANY luck with the boys EVER because she SCARED most of them, and she was faced with this gorgeous foreign boy who wanted nothing but to kiss her... sooo i wa like sure, ok, but no tongue ( ) so we get up and he backs me up against the wall, and puts his hands on my hips... he smiles and then i close my eyes and he goes in... he had the softest lips... and i got goosebumps all over my body. so we kept kissing, and he must've enjoyed it because for one, i've never been kissed and i was enjoying it, and also, i started feeling quite the poke on my end, if you know what i mean... i REALLY wish i had continued now that i look back, but really, i freaked out because my uncle lived a few floors down and only used THAT stairwell... so after it started getting intense i stopped it and we went back to join the other two... D and dre had to go, so we walked them out, in the elevator on the way down, D was holding me, it was so we got downstairs, and it was raining out, and we went outside (hot summer) and he kissed me again and we said our goodbyes... And I never saw him again. It was such an experience, i will hold onto it forever... i have yet to have that kiss matched. Update: IT HAS BEEN MATCHED!   What a story... Sounds like the perfect first kiss to me.

My first kiss was in the very early hours of June 27, 2002. I was in Chanhassen, MN for that year's Xenophobia celebration. I was 25. Don't get me wrong, I'd fooled around with guys before, but I'd never kissed anyone. Sex, up to that point, was just for getting off, and I'd never done anything with anyone I'd cared about. Kissing was something special to me, and I was reserving it for someone special. I met someone that week. And all we did was kiss. And the next night too. It was very bold of me, but I knew it was right, even if the immediate aftermath around me/us was a bit rocky. It changed the course of my life, for better or worse, that very moment. My first real kiss was with a girl named Andrea whom I was dating in middle school. We went to rival schools, but we met at a mutual friend's birthday party.
I'd gone to see her in her school's Christmas concert, and during another group's performance she sat next to me and wanted to make out. I obliged. In retrospect, I know she wanted to do it less because she was so into me than because it was utterly scandalous. A boyfriend from a rival school was TOTALLY anathema where we grew up -- and lots of people could see us. Plus, girls at her school thought I was fine -- and everyone thought Andrea was FOINE -- so we were being legendarily hated on! So we made out... and I bolted right before the concert ended because I was warned some guys at her school were planning to jump me. Real romantic stuff.
