Random Thoughts Part II

I've always wondered, what does the phrase "cook the books" mean?

I feel a bad vibe coming from one dude at work, like he could kill me.
Since the beginning when we started to work together, I could tell that he didn't like me,
it's all about my having a good schedule, and thus he thinks = more money.

At first, it was just a feeling I had.
But not long ago, he had an incident with someone and when he came back to the jobsite he was pissed.
So he goes mouthing off, and when I said something (not important enough for me to even remember)
he had the nerve to say to me "You wanna die? You want me to kill you?"
hmm
I don't remember what I said, but in my mind, I shot through the roof, it wasn't that I was afraid, my anger always overshadows fear....
Ok, wait, I remember now... I said, "Go ahead, let's see, c'mon man, I wanna see you do it!" (Or something to that effect. I don't like when people say stuff like that to try to intimidate me. disbelief)

In the beginning, he seemed like a nice guy (or acted that way) but now, his aggression
is showing through and he doesn't attempt to hide it.
I guess you never really know people sometimes. shrug

I'm not afraid of him... and don't really think he will "kill" me although he is still irked when he sees me.
Actually later that night when he threatened me, he was still raving and now saying that he was gonna
kill the guys, and I sort of reasoned with him by asking him,
"So, shrug if you do kill them then, how will you get to see your daughter?"

smile Hi!
Actually, the manager was there when he said that, although she was too shocked
to say anything I think.
I think it'll be okay, I'm just pleasant towards him and ignore when he gets nuts.

Have you made a Will ... and if not, can I be included on it? biggrin

... but seriously, it sounds like your manager should be taking action, and you need to take care not to antagonise such an aggressive colleague - it sounds like he definately has "issues" and may be unpredictable hug

Sign on the dotted line..... lol

Yeah, I let it roll off my back cause I feel sorry for him,
and he definitely does have his issues. nod
I guess now when I deal with him, I need to use caution and discernment.

Your boss should have pulled him in right away when he said that, and reprimanded him for it. I understand that she was probably shocked, but she is in charge, and she should not be letting stuff like that go on, IMHO. If I was the manager of a place and had somebody threaten another employee like that, they would be fired on the spot. I wouldn't put up with any of that mess.

I got a new book this past weekend and already began reading and studying it,
started in chapter 10 & 11 about marriage for Christians.
Perfect, just when I needed something like this for me to consider.
