tore it apart...ever see Soul Food? disbelief

Soul food was an excellent movie, and the "mama" in the family reminded me of my own Mom. She was the glue in our family. When she was alive it was a sin to miss Sunday dinner at her house. I miss those days dearly. But we as a extended family still get together for holidays and birthdays, just not every Sunday like we used to. pout

upon my mom's death, her side of the family suddenly started treating me like a weird version of the elephant in the room. shrug

my last remaining grandparent died about a month or so ago. I couldn't be happier because she was a bad woman. I hope it brings my father some kind of relief.

my whole entire extended family is odd! and are always looking for a reason to tear one another apart! they are always jealous of each other, and compete to see who can have more... rolleyes when a death in the family happens, it brings out the even worse behavior in them!!! this is why for the most part i don't even talk with my family, i'm the black sheep of the whole family simply because i refuse to join in acting like them! mad

i can understand what you're saying....it sounds mean, but there are certain people in a family that are just plain bad!

When our Dad died we carried on as best as we could then our mum died, she was the backbone of our family. I drifted away from my family not because of money but because of depression. I do very occassionally speak to my sisters but not often, I find it very difficult to be a family anymore.

Both

when my grandfather died, my family came in to some money, but some members were very sloppy and wasteful with its use...

this caused many fights and years of tension in my family

by the time my grandmother was sick and dying, the money was long gone, but her passing (and a few other tragedies) kinda brought everybody back together in a sense
If you will, so will I
