Shoot, I Don't Seem To Have Any Freakin Luck Whatsoever!! So I got an email from unemployment, saying that I could possibly extend my benefits for another 3 months. Great, although I am working part-time, and not making as much money as I was while I was just getting unemployment compensation. So I call the number at the top of the form that was sent to me, to find out if I could still get some kind of compensation, since I'm only working part-time. Usually, the government will give you the difference of what you make working part-time from what they were giving you. For instance, if unemployment was paying me $300 a week, and I worked part-time and made $100 a week, I would still receive $200 in unemployment from the government. I called to find out if this were true, waited on hold for 20 minutes. I finally got somebody on the line to talk to, and it looks like I could possibly still get something from the government, even if I'm working part-time. So I give the person on the phone from unemployment all my information (my name, address, phone number, date of birth, driver's license number, employer's name, number, dates of employment, etc. etc.). Just as we're finishing up, I'm almost done, and she's giving me a confirmation number for my records, the phone disconnects! It's 5:00, but I call back anyway, hoping I still may be able to get a hold of somebody. I don't know if their phones automatically shut off at 5:00, but I somehow lost the connection with the woman I was speaking with. The offices are now closed for the day, and I have to call back tomorrow! I just hope they can give me my confirmation number, and I won't have to give them all the information that I gave them over the telephone again. Why does this shit always have to happen to me? I can't seem to win, no matter what I do. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Well, you're alive & you didn't fall into the Grand Canyon this weekend. It's really not so bad!

This is true. I had a shitty day already, and this just kinda added to my frustration. Guess I just need to take a deep breath, and call back tomorrow. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Believe me, I'm working on it. As you know, the jobs in Ohio are scarce (and getting more scare by the minute). I did get my unemployment compensation for the full 6 months, but I guess Bush passed some kind of a bill or whatever, offering additional unemployment compensation to whoever needed it. He didn't seem to care too much about the economy, or about creating jobs. I'm hoping the new president is more proactive and caring about it, since unemployment is effecting so many people and families. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Thanks. I'm hoping I just have to call back to get the confirmation number, and not have to give all the information again. But it should be in the computer, I would think. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Ohio was one State hit VERY hard by NAFTA, so if the new prez doesn't make changes there, it will stay as is unfortunately. Hang in there Nan-y!!! I'm firmly planted in denial

Yes, Ohio is one of THE WORST states to live in right now. Hanging on by a thread here, hoping things get better. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Caution: Make sure it's the unemployment office, most don't communicate thru emails. Give your local office a call, do not provide the email with personal information. No More Haters on the Internet.
