i think part of it is that the little boy reminds me so much of myself when i was little - being a latch-key kid, having a single parent, being in a world where i had to entertain myself most of the time so i developed an overactive imagination and a love of robots and comics and all that crazy boy stuff that i still haven't grown out of.
i think the other part of it is just how sweet and innocent the robot is, and how it has no idea how powerful it is until the boy has to say "you are not a gun". oh no, i'm tearing up just writing that! 
it's just the sweetest movie ever and it touches on a lot of things that mean something to me. I teared up just reading that.... thinking of my boys in the world.  "not a fan" yeah...ok | |

The first time I heard this song was on the Finale to Six Feet Under.
I fell in love at that moment...bawled my eyes out watching the show and I still cry every time I listen to this song.

I cry every time I watch that show. Especially last night's episode. That family was so damn deserving, I can't even stand it. I also recently watched the entirety of My So-Called Life. Every single episode had me crying for one reason or another. Jordan Catalano is such an asshole, and I basically dated him in high school. And Brian Crackow always losing the girl.
Bridge Over Troubled Water always makes me tear up. It's just such a beautiful song. Oh - and one no one will get. Sinead O'Conner's Daddy I'm Fine makes me cry. I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe cause I always see a bit of myself in that song, I dropped out of college, decided to go out and have fun, can't see getting married, blah blah blah and yet wanting to assure my parents that despite not following the "normal" path, I'm doing OK. I'm fine.ugh! you guys are making me cry today... something about kids wanting their parents to be proud of them or just be accepting ....ugh! touching "not a fan" yeah...ok | |

OH! isn't that commercial terrible!?!?! Oi! they play it on PBS all the time. The song, the lil animals, the subtitles....it's all so sad. oh yeah...they also use Cyndi laupers "true colors" as one of there songs and just the thought of that song..when you thinking about little kids.
