Another hands down is whenever I hear Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. give his "I Have A Dream" speech. Beautiful. There's nothing like it. As powerful as it was on the day Dr.King gave it, it's even MORE powerful today. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

A movie scene that makes me cry is the first "My Girl" movie, when the little boy dies after being stung by a bee. It's the morning of his funeral, and his little friend (a female) can't bear to go, because she's just so upset over him passing away. As the ceremony is being held, she is sitting on the steps listening, and is in tears. Eventually, she comes into the room where the ceremony is held, walks up to the little boy's casket. She notices that the little boy does not have his glasses on, and says, "Where are his glasses? He can't see without his glasses!" That scene makes me tear up every time I see it, it's just so, so sad! My sister-in-law and I were talking about this movie once, and she said the same thing, that it made her cry too. I've watched the first "My Girl" movie several times, and this scene always makes me cry without fail. [Edited 8/11/08 17:37pm] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I can't help it As for songs, the only song that makes me cry is "Triste y Vacia" by Hector Lavoe. Some of the lyrics remind me of a bad time in my life. I can't listen to it
Selena is almost painful for me to watch, because i'm always guaranteed a cry, right as the rose drops.... [...i think i can, i think i can, i think i can...]

Maybe I'm a bit self-indulgent,but I often contemplate who I am. Not in a narcissistic way. But in more of a respectably mundane and earnest fashion. What's my role in this society? What's my limit? How thick/thin is my skin? Where can I go in life? Often, I get a little carried away. I worry a lot, which is why I have developed a little grey hair growth in the oddest of places. I worry about the right words to use when I'm amid the trajectory of discourse. It sort of grates my mind to shriveled up scraps. What is my personal outlook on this thing called life? It's somewhat depressing. But yeah..... [Edited 8/11/08 17:48pm] This sig is just a fig of your imago-neigh-shun

ok, here it goes:
- i haven't watched the Lion King in a few years (i got the special edition DVD for a birthday years ago, still in the shrinkwrap) because i can't handle the scene where Mufasa is murdered and Simba tries to 'wake him up' .. *i have a fear of abandonment* and that scene chokes me up every time, to the point of embarrassment... - this play: Da Kink in My Hair had me sobbing... i can't even describe the scene, it's canadian, and i'm not sure but they may be trying to travel with it - if you get a chance, see it. - 'sometimes it snows in april' is another song that i can't listen to anymore... i've banned it from my playlists... i almost did that to 'condition of the heart' but i find it therapeutic to cry to that song.. - i don't like country or whatever, but my niece got a teddy bear that sings this song, and she loved it so much that she learned the words... and when she sing it i break down... i'm tearing now just thinking of it... it just gets me everytime... just knowing her relationship with her mother and vice versa and it's just so innocent and sincere... there's so much more... but i'm stopping there. blackguitaristz said: Yeah, one without fail is whenever I hear this piece of music to the film "Orca" It's the main movement or main piece of the film. It opens and closes the movie. "Love Theme" or "We Are One" is the title of the piece. I've had the soundtrack ever since I was a child. But everytime I watch this film, my eyes tear up like a mimi waterfall. It's one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. It has always really touched me.
Another piece of music from a film that brings tears to my eyes is the (Love Theme of Romeo and Juliet) from 1968. The music was composed by Nino Rota. I also have this soundtrack. At the end of the film when Laurence Olivier does the voice over speech and he says "For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo"...man, the tears are flowing. The music is beautiful. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

My tearjerkers:
Music: Love Tried To Welcome Me-Madonna. i don't know about the rest of you guys, but i can't play that song.shit, i'm tearing up just thinking about it. the lyrics, melody and the way she sung it was ACE.if i was a actress and i had to get in a sad mode for a scene, i would play this one. Movies: Chicken Little. There's scene in which he's sitting on the roof of his house and he was thinking of a way to gain his father's acceptance and the song "I Love You And It's all I Know" was playing when he looked to the stars in the sky and said "Please...All i need is a chance." : a really cool movie overall. oh and..DUH how could i forget Finding Neverland? the scene where sylvia was coming down with tuberculosis and she couldn't make it to the theater to see james' play so he brought the play to her(albeit amended) [Edited 8/11/08 18:10pm]

Songs, yes. Some Utada Hikaru tracks, and some from Seal's second to last album. That's because their music lifted me when I really needed. I loved the positivity and I'm always reminded of that time when I listen. A few Stevie tracks (Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away, Another Star) and I'm sure a few other songs I can't think of right now.
Movies? Forrest Gump. | |
