Carnation Breakfast Bars! I used to LOVE these as a kid, and have been tryig to find something similar in my adulthood for breakfast. There doesn't seem to be anything that is close...or at least I can't find it. If anyone has suggestions on what would be comparable, that would be super! What about...POWERBAR PRIA? I love those things, and haven't found anything that is quite like it. I buy Tiger Milk bars occasionally, but the texture is just not hittin'.
Below is a jimmy rigged version of Carnation Breakfast Bars from budget101.com. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking that this may be a good weekend experiment. Try at your own risk. 1 Cup Spanish Peanuts (Peeled and Crushed to a near powder) 1 Cup Rolled Toasted Oats (use Granola for lack of toasted oats) 1 Cup Rice crispies ½ Cup Miniature chocolate chips 1/3 Cup Light Karo Syrup. 24 - 36 Oz. Milk Chocolate Combine all dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Add Karo Syrup (though it is possible to pack the ingredients without this) Line a small pan with wax paper and PACK the mixture FIRMLY into pan. Melt 12 oz of the chocolate and spread over top of mixture and refrigerate till firm (at least one hour) | |
