Can animals have eating disorders?

My sweet son, Fabio, is 10 years old, weighs 22 lbs. and he throws a fit if his food bowl is low. He will meow like he is in pain, head but me, step on my head, anything in the morning for food. When I get to his bowl, there is a small amount of food still in it. He meows all day by his bowl in a panic, but it is never empty. I have tried to regulate his intake, but he goes crazy!!!! Anyone else have a pet like Fabio?

my cat is a foodaholic, though i've managed to get him down to only whining for food once a day. sometimes when he whines, i'll give him a couple of kitty treats instead of filling his bowl (that is, if his bowl isn't anywhere close to empty) and that will shut him up.

plus, my cat is weird. often, he whines for us to go to his dish so he can show us his food. he'll meow and meow until we follow him to his dish, and then he'll just start eating. it's like his version of show and tell, i guess. shrug lol

My cat went through this short phase where she'd scarf her food down really fast and then go barf it up. I used to call her my little bulimic.

That's funny, my cat does the same. Sometimes he doesn't need a refill, he just wants me to watch him eat. lol
