i used to wear vintage vests all the time in the 80s, and there's a secret part of me that is SO HAPPY they're making a comeback, even though they still look cheezy as hell. i haven't given in yet, but i'm sorely tempted...

I wore them too, when I was about 13. I remember my favorite was all autumn colors and forest green and has a paisley pattern on it.
redface

I remember my mom taking me shopping for hours to find one. Every single one I tried on looked horrible on me. All the girls at school were wearing them. They would wear them with those black puffy pants (Hammer pants) that would button up just above the knee. You could unbutton them if you needed to bust a move, MC Hammer style. My ass was too big to wear those too. sigh

It was lik 90 degrees out!!!

Overly concerned with being ironic assholes.

right???

i guess i have a guilty trendy pleasure because i like skinny jeans. but i would have worn skinny jeans five years ago if i could have found them. i don't like the stupid uber-skinny pants that look like long underwear bottoms - you know, the kind that you usually see on emo boys who don't have the ass to fill em out - but i like a nice, tight pantleg and i like a snug, cozy fit because, as i always say, i want to know where everything is positioned at all times. i run a tight ship in my pants.

purplesweat

I just recently discovered ugg boots. While I'd never wear em outside like so many girls my age do, they are SO comfy inside during this horrid, horrid winter.

I look like a douche trying to walk in em though, they're so...floppy lol

And since we're on the subject of Lil Wayne, I've been jamming to Lollipop for the last 2 weeks. boxed

Me too, but I don't think I'll be able to pull off the second-hand old man sweater vests or polyester paisley vests I used to rock. They looked so great with mock turtlenecks and t-shirts. sigh

yeah, i used to wear vests over paisley shirts with big ballooney pants and my safety orange chuck taylors. i don't know if that entire ensemble needs to make a comeback in my wardrobe. lol

ill I think I need to see you in this...

I don't have anything against über-skinny jeans, but I usually don't rock that. I like to wear tapered straight leg pants. My favorite jeans right now are the A.P.C. New Standard. They're straight leg, but not too tight yet fitted just enough in the right places.

my main criteria: i don't like being able to shake my leg inside my pants leg. that's just not okay.

Same here. From the sounds of it, my jeans could work for you. They're Unisex, and are made with both sexes in mind. You can wear them anywhere, in many, many different types of settings. From going out to professional. Plus, I like APC because I'm a fan of selvaged denim.
