How Do You Get A Song That's Stuck In Your Head OUT Of Your Head?...

I mean besides a lobotomy.

For about 3 days now I've had that song "Stumblin' In" by Suzie Quatro stuck in my freakin' head, and it will NOT leave lol confused...If I'm busy working or if my mind's occupied with too many issues, I'm ok. But as soon as even a small amount of space makes itself available, the damn chorus jumps to the front and starts repeating itself...stinkin' Leather Tuscadero. mad

Our love is alive
And so we begin
Foolishly laying our hearts on the table
Stumblin' in

neutral

I...can NOT...get...it...OUT!! wall

Any suggestions on what I can do? I've tried replacing it with other songs, but this is one potent mf'ing song lol lol...I don't even know how it got in there to begin with mad...After one whole day of unconsciously singing the thing to myself at every possibly moment, I made the mistake of going to YouTube to actually listen to the song again for the first time in like 20 years, thinking maybe if I heard it I would no longer need to put it on repeat in my cranium.

Big mistake. I think it just embedded the song deeper into my brain lol bawl...

And on that note:

Why should I suffer alone lol cool

Listening to instrumental tracks can help to get rid of earworm...

Good luck.

Listen to another song. Something long and good but not overly catchy. Don't want the earworm to replace itself.

try using another song, blast it in your head (or sing aloud) until the first song gets unstuck.

if you play an instrument practice on it for a while. that works too.

good luck!

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Read something, you'll start focusing on that.

Songs usually get stuck when bored.

I've had the song "Fingerbang" off of South Park stuck in my head for past 2 years.

I'm gonna fingerbang, bang you into my life
Girl, you like to fingerbang and it's alright
Cuz I'm the king of fingerbang, let's not fight
I'll just fingerbang, bang you every night

And I have to do the finger gun gestures every time I sing it. I must be stopped!
Shake it til ya make it dancing jig

I hate earworms, but I've found the only two things that get rid of them are time and/or another equally infecting song.

My daughter says, "go camping." lol
