I got one of those. He's my first older man and he turned me out at the tender age of 20. We've had an on/off thing for 15 years but I could never be in a relationship with his ass. I used to always joke that if we ever got married we'd have to have our own houses next to each other. Then two years ago I built my new house in the same subdivision as his. We now live literally around to block from each other. . . Convenient.

I don't think it's change...per se. I had a BLAST in my 20's. I mean, I was a personality for the number one station in my city. I got everything free. Nightclubs, food, drinks, concerts, etc. Don;t get it twisted though. Being a "public" persona, I had to be DISCREET. I never brought men I dated to any company functions, station, anywhere. Yeah...I changed. That was fun. He was fun. And it's done. I think if you get all that fun out of your system, you don't miss it. I don't have kids, didn't get married in my twenties, and was chasing after my career ambitions. I still am. I have friends that got married early, and had kids. And now they look at me and say "I should have done what you did". Not that I am Goddess of career ambition, but getting married and popping out babies in my twenties was NOT on the agenda.

So after I had my taste of fun, mistakes, and growth, I was ready for something else. Went back to school to get a Master's, met a wonderful and stable man, and developing my own business.

There's a season for everything in your life, honey.
