I like to read in bed, but it makes me really sleepy, I only read 2 pages at a time, it takes me months to finish anything, and then I'll be reading and wondering who all the people in the book are

^^^me too sometimes especially a book from an author like colleen mccullough, i spend so much time back tracking, trying to figure out who's who and why are they where they are again.

Do you know that book A Suitable Boy? I bought it from the op shop, but never started it, I knew I was never going to get through it, and gave it BACK to the op shop recently

In bed or in my recliner chair, mostly, but I carry a book with me everywhere I go, so I'm always sneaking a few pages in here or there.
Years ago I used to go to the park specifically to read, but it's been quite some time since I've done that.

i've never read in a park! i guess i'm not much of a reader. it wouldn't even occur to me to do that. just like at the beach in mexico... people were reading and all i could think was "crazy people! how can you read when you could be watching the surf?"

I read mostly in bed and in the bathtub. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

That was part of what I used to call "my favorite day". When I lived in Loring Park I'd wander downtown through Loring Greenway and down Nicollet Mall and find something yummy for breakfast or lunch (depending on what time I left the house). Then I'd go to Barnes and Noble and browse for at least an hour, sometimes much longer. I'd take my purchases to Dunn Bros and get coffee and sit outside, or sometimes I'd wander down to Peavey Plaza and sit there outside. Then I'd usually be so into my book, I'd walk back to Loring Park and find a nice spot on a bench or in the grass and spend the rest of the afternoon reading there. |

I bought it from the op shop, but never started it, I knew I was never going to get through it, and gave it BACK to the op shop recently No I don't, never heard of the author either. Looks quite political, like a difficult read especially at a slow pace. I'm quite stubborn so if I start a book, I usually finish it eventually, even it's years later, I hold on to that sucker for forever. Reading in bed is pretty much my only option now, to read in a park or something like that would make me feel too exposed, since I can get so engrossed in a book I'm not aware what's going on around me. When my kids were younger, I would read a lot in the car while they were at their various activities/rehersals, that's when I got the best reading in. I kind of missing getting totally enveloped in a book. Plus, I need glasses, so that's a distraction too.

It totally depends on the book. Lately, as a commuter, I read alot on busses and trains and when I get home I chill online or watch tele.
Other times, like now, I just love to stare out of the window on PT and come home and open a book and escape. Lately I love browsing bookstores. I am getting back into a habit.

I know the other day I had like 90 pages left, so I forced myself to finish the book and then I went to sleep. It totally fucked my sleeping patter up
