Wow, It IS Always Darkest Before the Dawn. . .

I've been working as a training consulting for the last 7 years. The biggest perk of the job is that I get to work from my "home office" AKA my bed in pajamas (optional). I'm blessed to really enjoy my work and have a talent for what I do. However, the biggest drawbacks are no benefits AND being paid hourly so if the job only has 5 hours worth of work for you that week, you only get paid for 5 hours. Booooo!!! mad Also, a project can end without ANY notice so you learn to keep money in the bank at ALL times. thumbs up!

I've been on a project for a great company for the last 3 months that has not kept me busy (hence why I've been up in this joint so much lol ). In fact, last month's invoice was less than 60 hours. sigh However, there's GREAT potential for long term work if they can get it together. I'm very obssessive when it comes to money, paying bills on time, balancing my checkbook, projections for future earnings, and all-around budgeting and financial planning. (Although, you may not know this from my shoe threads wink )

This morning I woke up kinda dejected, because I'd just had to let another side gig go cuz they woefully underestimated the project's budget so I was basically working for free, plus I was ending my THIRD month of NOT billing full time hours for my main client. This week I sent emails to all my old colleagues looking for side gig opportunities. I was starting to get concerned and antsy. Now, I'm not overly religious, nor do I attend church regularly, however I do believe that I've had angels looking out for me and that a higher power is always guiding my steps. So, this morning I decided to let go of the anxiety and leave it in God's hands and let Him take it.

After this proclamation, I turned off my computer and took a 30 minute nap. When I awoke and got back online, I received an email from a consulting company that submitted my resume to IBM a few weeks ago saying that they want to hire me for a long-term, telecommuting position, at MY rate, with NO interview, a GUARANTEED 40 hours, starting in 10 days. omfg

I said all this to say that God is Good, and although I wasn't desperate or down to my last dime or anything I was concerned that the situation couldn't continue. Mama has five mortgages to pay and it was starting to cut into my shoe budget. shake

So woot! for me!

Well, Orgers let's talk about times when you were down and out and something semi-miraculous happened just in the nick of time. cool

I had just gotten back from Wales and my hair had grown out a bit. It was hot here in Florida, and my hair was frizzing. sad

Well, I accidentally overslept and missed a hair appointment with my stylist omfg, but he managed to fit me in the very next week at the same time.

It was one of those situations where I should have known better no no no!, but I just messed up. It was as if I had turned my back on Jason, my hairdresser, and denied him. He could have said that I needed to book something weeks out, but instead, he was cool about it.

Because of his generosity and kindness I managed to avoid going to Supercuts or Fantastic Sams that week.

i know the sceptics will call it co-incidence, but i believe that all we have to do is clear our minds and relax. if it is meant to be it will happen.

well done on the job.

I know this is too true. I don't believe in coincidence. There've been too many against all odds-type blessings in my life to chalk it up to dumb luck. shrug Thanks! thumbs up!

today really is a day of messages! I just got this in an email

Wisdom of the soul

1. No one can ruin your day without YOUR permission.
2. Most people will be about as happy, as they decide to be.
3. Others can stop you temporarily, but only you can do it permanently.
4. Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.
5. Success stops when you do.
6. When your ship comes in... make sure you are willing to unload it.
7. You will never "have it all together."
8. Life is a journey. not a destinatio n. Enjoy the trip!
9. The biggest lie on the planet: "When I get what I want I will be happy."
10. The best way to escape your problem is to solve it.
11. I've learned that ultimately 'takers' lose and 'givers' win.
12. Life's precious moments don't have value, unless they are shared.
13. If you don't start, it's certain you won't arrive.
14. We often fear the thing we want the most.
15. Everyone hears what you say. Friends listen to what you have to say. Best
friends listen to what you don't say!
16. Yesterday was the deadline for all complaints.
17. Look for opportunities... not guarantees.
18. Life is what's coming.... not what was.
19. Success is getting up one more time.
20. Now is the most interesting time of all.
21. When things go wrong.....don't go with them.
22. Sometimes the majority only means that all the fools are on the same side.
23. God can mend all broken hearts. You just have to give Him all the piec es.
24. A person who asks a question might be a fool for five minutes, but a person
who doesn't ask, is a fool forever.
25. A best friend is like a four leaf clover... hard to find, and lucky to have.

anonymous.
