agreed...i can play up my traits, and do often for kicks, but i dont see the point in flat out lying online...what does it reward you?

Because I usually don't enjoy the attention I get (or lack of ) when I start a thread. I thought about starting certain threads (although not many), but then decided to not do it because people might not be interested. It's weird, I am totally not like that in RL.

I start threads as a sort of social barometer. I wanna hear what you all think about a subject, even if it is as inane as "Do you like my butt" or somesuch...

As for the "honesty" I believe that if you hang out in places like the org you begin to get a "feel" or vibe from certain members, I don't believe we rush to judge and some of us have a better nack for sniffing out the BS (mdiver v. rolling for example).

I'm as honest as I can be with all of you (especially in my Ask thread) but I certainly don't expect it in return. I would, however, appreciate it. I'd rather not post in a thread if it meant I would lie about something.

I could agree to that only on the grounds that I work in a windowless concrete warehouse in a an industrial part of town and I rarely get any visitors here (unless you count my UPS guy who's practically my BEST friend in these parts).

The org is my virtual water cooler so to speak...

and when I post about YOUR middle names how does that make it about me? I fail to see the correlation... IMO the only thread I started about "me" was my ask thread...

People usually post when somebody posts they are friends with or who they know to a certain extent because the person has shared information about him/herself and /or posted pictures. So I guess people just "know" you better now .
