Did Britney get a leg up on a porn queen?

Quentin Tarantino — who previously pronounced Tera Patrick to be his pick to play Varla in a remake of 1965's Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! — by one account is now eyeing Spears instead.

A source tells the UK's Telegraph, "Quentin is convinced Britney will be brilliant" as the lesbian stripper who murders a guy with her bare hands before taking his girlfriend hostage. "[And Britney] is delighted. She thinks it could turn her career around."

As Varla, Spears would also engage in (simulated) sex scenes with another girl.

Does Britney plus Tarantino plus lesbian sex scenes add up to too purrrfect an unconfirmed rumor? "I really don't see this happening," one film industry insider tells TVGuide.com, scoffing at the Telegraph's tale. "Tarantino is going to be really busy for the next few years with Inglorious Bastards [starring Michael Madsen and Adam Sandler, and perhaps being produced in two parts a la Kill Bill]. I don't believe this." —

The fact that he's remaking FPKK is enough reason to hate this project. ANd to give Britney Varla's role just spells disaster. I'm sure Quinten will love working wth someone as "talented" as Britney. That role takes some Bravado and CHops she doesn't have.

There is no point in remaking something that is good as it is. Why not do something new? I get it that it's his style ala Deathproof, but IMO it doesn't need to be remade.

i agree it's a great movie, it's a thanksgiving tradition in my circle of friends to watch it, not certain why i don't remember. however a good reworking could lead more people to discover it.

Giving Britney any attention. Seriously, she's severely undertalented. Why is anyone still giving her star time? Let her go back to the trailerpark, and start giving your time, money, and attention to someone with talent. Anyone.

Oh, come on! Who doesn't like at least "ONE" of Tarantino's movies?

I'm a bad gay. I've never seen FPKK. I've seen stills from it though. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE BRITNEY IN THIS ROLE!!!!

I'm a major fan of Quentin's. I'm a major fan of the film Faster Pussycat. I dig all of Russ Meyer's films. I think this would be perfect for Quentin to direct because he's a master of re-creating films from the 60's and 70's. That genre is what he excels in because he's such a fan of anything from that period. He has the ability to make a film today and make it look, sound and feel like you're truly watching a film that was made from the 60's and 70's. Like I said, he's a master at that. Britney playing Varla, yeah, I see that. And I understand it. I've never been a fan of Spears but I still can vision her in that role. You don't have to be a classical actress to play this character. And Quentin KNOWS that if he casted Britney in this, that's just one more reason for many people to go see it. The question is does Britney even have the stamina or the work ethic to even get through the making of the film? That's something I think Quentin has to consider.

you would think Britney went around punching old ladies in the ovaries or something...

Jeffrey got the name Varla from this movie. and Merman came from teh chapter of Ethel Merman's autobiography that talked about her marriage to Ernest Boystein which was just a blank page.
