I was in the grocery store today and someone called me on my cell and told me this. I was about to freakin' cry. The cart pusher guy overheard me and started asking me if Bernie was dead. Then he started saying they would have a huge parade since he was from Chicago, and probably down Michigan Ave, etc., etc., etc. I was like....damn...first George now Bernie??? Who next?

"Bernie Mac is still alive and being treated in a Chicago hospital for pneumonia and is expected to make a full recovery," his rep, Danica Smith, told People. "We once again ask that the press respect his privacy and that of his family." In addition to his health status, Smith also responded to false rumors on Saturday that Mac (born Bernard Jeffery McCullough) had died due to an inflammatory illness. "It is a very horrible rumor," she stated to various Chicago media. "It is absolutely untrue. Nothing has changed from yesterday." In 2005 the two-time Emmy Award-nominated actor was diagnosed with an inflammatory lung disease known as sarcoidosis, which causes inflammation in the lungs.
