Mariah. I was named after my Mom's grandmother. When I was a kid, NO ONE was named that. The kids teased me... made up dumb rhymes like "Mariah the Papaya". confused

Then... that singer came along and now everyone names their daughters Mariah. I hate when people say, "Oh, like Mariah Carey!"
no no no! (a) I'm older than she is, so how can I be named after her? (b) She wasn't popular in 1967! mad

I know. lol

See, what I don't like about "Ann" is the way it's spelled. I like "Anne" much better. It's more aesthetically pleasing.

That's rough... but it is a very pretty name if you take it out of the "singer" context...

Hokie knows my middle name. She won't tell though.

The only reason I have one is because my mother and grandmother couldn't agree on what to name me.

It's not customary for Israelis to have middle names.

Oh, and I know Hokie's middle name. And I won't tell that either.

It's Denise. giggle Don't tell her I told! razz

Would you give yourself one? If so what would you like it to be?

You know, I've thought about it and I would give myself one. Since I have such a common first name in the US (Jessica), I'd like a hispanic name as my middle name, to reflect my culture. I've never decided on one, but I'd probably choose something like Emilia, Lucia, Esmeralda, or Celenia, which is my mother's middle name. I've always loved that name nod

OOOOO!!! I like Anastasia love

I got to help name one of my nieces when I was 12 and that's the middle name I gave her. mushy I like Russian and Japanese names too because they have a Spanish pronunciation. My first name's actually Russian but sounds Spanish. In Vegas this weekend, the hostess at one of the restaurants I went to asked me if I my first name is Russian because she is. I was all excited that she knew that cuz most people don't pick up on that. lol
