the world shouldn't be completely changed to suit kids. i'm not going to consciously copiously swear around children or at all when talking to them, but if i'm in public i'm not going to care if i say 'what the fuck' and someone's little darling hears. it won't have been the first time.

it's okay to leave a trail of profanity trailing from one side of the internet to the other though.

but shit, my mom cussed like a sailor around me when i was a kid and i grew up mortified at the thought of cussing around HER (i'm still that way with people of my parents' generation - i can't cuss around them - it feels creepy and wrong.) - but around people my own age, they can just deal with my trash mouth as far as i'm concerned.
