You can put cat food in 'Tuna Helper' and it's quite delicious. Dog food could should only be used for tacos.

cat food tends to be less chunkier for one thing

dog food tends usually to be more meat flavoured, yet it has virtually NO taste... and since dogs smell a million times better than they can taste, why bother putting any taste in it...

cat food on the other hand has more white meat taste..
fish or chicken... it actually tastes better than dog
food, cat food can taste better than dogs...

Dog food ought to have more vegetables in them, Cat food must always be 100% meat !! That's because of the animals original nature !!

All I know is that my dog when I was kid would insist on stealing my cat's food each day and never touch his own. So I'd guess that catfood is tastier than dogfood, but only Natsume can confirm this for sure ... biggrin

I always look at dog food and want to eat it--esp those soft chewy steak looking snacks. But then i see my roommate's dog eat it and i lose my appetite. I think they use 'hot dog' like materials in them--the butt, snout, eye, and hoof of the cow-- better known as the 'by-products' in dog/cat food...mmm.

i decided to avoid going through the process
of determining the difference until i know for sure
that i will reach that part of seniorcitizenship,
i mean, if i don't HAVE to know the difference,
i don't NEED to know the difference.

What I always wondered was how come Dog Food is basically all Meat and Cat Food basically all Fish? Supposedly cats are more like Humans than Dogs are and they say that there are Dog People and Cat People and they are Different. I don't see why a Dog can't eat Fish or a Cat can't eat more Meat but I'd just tell you to buy Organic anyway . It's Healthier.

Depends on who's eating what...

My $30.00 tri-tip steak dinner becomes dogfood when I stick it in his dish after I'm done with it!

lol

I heard (and this may just be a rumor) that catfood is made of dog and dogfood is made of cat.

To which I say barf

And to which I say further: edit

The difference between Catfood and Dogfood...?

Catfood tends to have a picture of a Cat on the tin,
and Dogfood usually has a picture of a Dog.

true catfood does taste better than dogfood, as i said
cats have a more developed sense of taste than dogs.

dog food on the other hand smells great (I think anyway) but has basically no taste at all...

Cats and dogs have different nutritional requirements. Cats are true carnivores who cannot synthesize certain nutrients found in meat, whereas dogs are biologically omnivores, like us, who should eat a diet that is less protein and nutrient dense.

Please do not feed your dog cat food, and especially do not feed your cat dog food.

This has been a public service announcement from the Org Veterinary Association.

Dog food comes in much bigger tins (apart from those little tins with 'rat' dogs on the front) than cat food. and you hardly ever get rabbit flavour dog food (becasue dog's aren't fast/sneaky enough to catch rabbits I think).
