She's my hero!! And SO badass!!

A few of us got together this weekend to enjoy 3 days of music and merriment in Chicago. The entire weekend was filled with more fun than I can possibly recount here so to make a long story short, I'm fast-forwarding to the very end.

It was the last night of lollapalooza and 8 of us were making our way towards the front of the crowd as we waited for NIN to take the stage. We knew it was a little crazy to get so close, but we thought we'd found the perfect location, far enough back to be out of the worst of the crushing crowd, close enough to see both the stage and the big screens on either side. The evening began to take an ominous turn as we could smell the testosterone and booziness in the air (such a horrible combination, what's with guys anyway?). And as we didn't want to believe would happen - within minutes of the show beginning we were sucked into a moshpit despite all of our pushing back against the rushing crowd.

This is when I discovered she's the best person to have next to you during a riot. When a frenzied asshole couldn't bring himself to keep on moving past us and repeatedly lunged into me she stepped up and defended my honor. And kicked his ASS!

And then we got the hell out of there. We were being crushed, I literally SCREAMED swear words at someone (and I don't do that kinda thing ever! ) and even Anxy was rattled.

If there's ever an apocalypse or riot, or even another moshpit breaking out, I want her to be next to me!!

Oh, and she's adorable and sweet has great taste in music and is super fun to boot.

I tried to warn my group, they weren't having it. I had a nice little "I told you so" and then we got a beer (our first of the day) and enjoyed the rest of the show from the side. With lots of room to dance and could still see everything, albeit from farther away.

And I'm not even talking to you about line dancing.

I almost hate to tell you that this was my second time. The first time being at the Glastonbury festival in england.

I thought of you during Fake Plastic Trees. Everything in it's Right Place into that song was the best part of the set. Fireworks were going off behind the stage. And it was only the middle of the show.
