Really? It was PG-13 here (I believe), but it really could've been rated R. Wait now! No Cursing! No Blood! No Tits nor Ass! No Gore! Just explosions and abductions.....no way could this movie be Rated R....NO WAY! The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

I agree that this movie should have had a stronger rating than PG 13. I wouldn't let anyone under 15 see it. I don't care if the violence is implied, it's still there.

you know...when I first heard Heath was chosen to play the Joker, I was a lil' confused...
when I first saw the idea for the Jokers look in the new film, I was kinda let down...but it grew on me more and more before the movie was released... when all the hype started, especially after his death, I was more than a lil' skeptical.... but, atleast in my opinion, it was a great performance....exceeded any expectations I had and was totally "believable"...I thought it was f'ing great... The movie should be named "The clown-prince of crime" instead, (jokers nic, simmilar to dark knight being Bats nic)
The Joker is the god damn movie! [Edited 8/5/08 18:48pm] Freedom is to trust that you're doing what you must according to your lust

Plus, yeah, the Prince soundtrack. For being touted as the greatest movie evar, The Dark Knight doesn't have a pop soundtrack to go with it. Batman aint for kids! Freedom is to trust that you're doing what you must according to your lust

I think the title of this movie should have included "the Joker" somehow,
because he definitely stole the show....he had no trouble convincing me that he was a complete maniac....all the way from his 3 stories about how his face became scarred to the pencil trick. He was definitely the most frightening Joker, and even though I liked Nicholson in the role, Ledger gave it his own unique interpretation...he was scary and creepy as hell...he gave a darkness to it that Jack didn't have when he played the role, which was a more comedic version. As for kids seeing the movie, I'd say no to that...mainly because it's psychologically disturbing.

I don't think the comics had a version where Joker's smile was due to huge cut scars running up the sides of his mouth. It's just sick. Naw, in the comics he fell into a vat of acid, and that accident somehow paralyzed his facial muscles into a smile, bleached his skin, and dyed his hair green. The cutting and makeup story is grosser, but at least it's actually plausible. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Speaking of the makeup thing...did anyone besides me have a hard time picturing this new Joker just walking into a store and buying (or stealing) some white Halloween face paint, red lipstick, and that green hair spray stuff. I wonder what brand lipstick he uses? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

He looked almost normal and his scars were barely noticeable.

I figured he'd do that. I just mean in general it's something I have a hard time picturing him doing. It's like picturing Prince wearing jeans and sneakers. I'm sure it's happened, but my mind doesn't accept it. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
