Social anxiety. I only smoke when I drink...and when the people I'm with are smokers. Outside of those situations, I don't smoke, at all.

When I smoked it was to give myself something to do. It's a great way to excuse yourself from a scene, gives you a valid reason to be standing anywhere, doing anything. It gives yout hands & mouth something to do when sex is not appropriate.

And honestly, I smoked because I thought it was cool. Bad boy stuff! But really it's just bad for you.

ummmm...how bout instead of "going for a smoke", you just say "excuse me" straight out.

I smoke the odd cigar every now and again. But they are very different to smoking cigarettes, they are just wrong

Yeah the little cigars aren't too bad if you don't want the whole lasting for hours thing that normal cigars do And there are some nice flavors around. I haven't smoked the small ones in a while tho. They are fun but

On another note has anybody ever smoked those black cigarettes? For a product which is often called "Death Sticks" those cigarettes are the epitome of it

I smoked thanks to peer pressure (fuckin' peers!).

I will smoke the occasional cigarette while drinking with friends. I can't stand the taste of cigs but oh how I love cigs with a strong cup of coffee (not a latte!) or an espresso. I've been known to schmoke regularly though... takes the edge off...

I smoked in college cause that seemed to be what you did.

I quit right after I graduated. It was a piece of cake too. No withdrawals or cravings at all.

I (and others I knew, too) started smoking completely as a joke. You have some drinks at a party and you grab a cigarette. It's like wearing a lampshade on your head.

You smoke that first cigarette as a statement about how all the dangers of the world are overblown. It's like running with scissors, or swimming less than an hour after eating. I smoked with the attitude "look at me, I'm so crazy, I'm risking my life with this one cigarette haha!!"

And thus it begins!
